Well its simple, when purchasing on the High Street you're mainly paying for the Brand Name, Advertising and Marketing costs as well as the Extravagant Packaging they use for each bottle and not only are they watered down but they also contain large amounts of Alcohol, so high in most perfumes that it ends up killing off the perfume itself (the reason they only last a few hours). Even though it has a negative effect on the perfume (because of it being a drying agent) it is still used in order to make the them Sprayable...
