Here’s the part most people get wrong: a gummy smile is not a lip volume problem. It’s the muscles above the lip pulling it too high. So adding filler to the lip doesn’t fix it — it adds bulk to a lip that’s already travelling too far, and it can make the gum show more, not less.

Using hyaluronic acid dermal filler, we smoothed away the bump on the bridge and lifted the tip to create that soft, ski-slope profile with a cute upturned finish.

This client came to us three weeks after having anti-wrinkle injections elsewhere, so what you see up top was the finished, settled result she was left with.

Two problems: an uneven brow lift, and residual movement.

The frontalis is one broad sheet of muscle that raises the brow. Relax the central fibres but leave the outer ones free to pull, and the tail of the brow shoots up — worse on one side than the other, and you get this.

Parts of the frown complex were also still firing.

Correcting it isn’t a case of ‘just’ adding more product.

You’re working on a muscle map that’s already been altered. On top of that, it’s been altered by someone other than us - which means we don’t know with what, or where. We assessed her in full animation to work out which fibres were still active, which had been relaxed, and which had been caught that shouldn’t have been — then placed very small, precise doses in specific locations.

The margin is narrow. Over-treat the frontalis and the brow drops and feels heavy. Chase symmetry too hard and you flatten expression entirely. The aim is balance with natural movement.

Worth knowing:
→ This is one of the quickest treatments we offer. That doesn’t make it simple. Anatomy varies, and the difference between a good and a poor result is millimetres and units.

→ Always allow a full 3 weeks before judging any result.

One session. Six weeks. She hadn’t left the house without makeup in years.

She’d had this mark on her cheek for a very long time.

Face masks became a habit.

Photos were avoided.

Foundation went on before the bins went out.

That’s the part nobody talks about — these marks are medically harmless and socially exhausting, and yet people quietly organise their whole life around them.

This is after one single CryoPen session. We’ve since done a second and we’ll show you how that settles.

What it is: a fine, precisely controlled jet of nitrous oxide at around −89°C, aimed at the lesion and almost nothing else. No blade, no stitches, no anaesthetic. Seconds per lesion.

What happens next: it darkens, crusts, then flakes away over 1–3 weeks. It looks worse before it looks better — that’s it working, not going wrong. Some clear in one session, some need two or three.

The bit that matters: not every brown mark is harmless, and freezing destroys the tissue — and the evidence with it.

Nothing gets treated here until it’s been properly assessed.

Anything atypical is referred on, not zapped.

Sometimes the most useful thing we do at a lesion appointment is say no.

We treat sun spots, age spots, seborrhoeic keratoses, skin tags, moles, milia, cherry angiomas, verrucae and warts.

Aftercare is simple: leave the crust alone, don’t pick, SPF daily on the area for three months. Sun afterwards is the main reason marks come back darker.

Same nose. Just better balanced.

That’s often the whole point of a non-surgical rhinoplasty — not a different nose, but your own one, quieter.

Look at the side profile:
→ the bump on the bridge is softened, so the line from bridge to tip reads as one smooth slope
→ the tip is lifted, which visually shortens the nose and opens the space between nose and lip
→ the profile now sits in proportion with her cheeks and chin, so your eye stops going straight to it

About 15 minutes. Essentially no downtime. She walked back out into her day.

On the front-on view: this nose had previously been treated with a prescription-only muscle-relaxing injectable to soften the pull at the tip and slim the nasal flare. Lovely as an adjunct — but it won’t build a slope on the side profile, and it won’t lift a tip the way precisely placed filler does. Different tools, different jobs.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is one of the highest-risk procedures in aesthetics. The nose has a dense, unforgiving blood supply with very little collateral circulation. Filler placed into or compressing a vessel can cause skin necrosis or, rarely, visual loss. That risk never reaches zero — anyone telling you it does is selling to you.

What changes it is who is holding the needle 💪

Look closely: our client is actively frowning, smiling, and raising her brows in both before AND after photos.

That matters more than anything else on this post.

Most before-and-afters you scroll past are a frown in the “before” and a relaxed face in the “after.” Of course the lines are gone — the muscle isn’t moving. It tells you nothing, and it sets you up to expect something nobody can deliver.

Here, she’s contracting the same muscles, at the same effort, in both images. Same lighting, same camera, same angle, two weeks apart. What you’re seeing is a real difference in how hard those muscles pull, not a difference in what she was asked to do with her face.

Two kinds of line, and they behave differently.

Dynamic lines appear when a muscle contracts and disappear at rest. They’re a movement pattern. Soften the movement and they soften with it — usually the most visible change.

Static lines are still there when the face is completely relaxed. Years of repeated folding damages collagen and elastin inside the crease, and the line becomes etched into the skin itself. Reducing the movement stops it deepening and lets the skin recover some ground, but that happens gradually over months, and it’s a softening rather than an erasure.

Almost everyone has a mix of both.

Where you sit on that spectrum is the single biggest factor in what any treatment can realistically do for you — and it’s not something you can judge from someone else’s photo, including this one.

That’s why we assess you in movement as well as at rest, and why an honest assessment sometimes ends with us saying the thing bothering you is a skin quality or volume concern rather than a muscle one.

She went as a model on a training day for “Russian lips”.

When she came to us we assumed a student had done it. It was the trainer.

She was told it would settle.

It was never going to settle. This wasn’t swelling — it was product placed where her lips were never going to carry it.

Then it got worse. The same practitioner offered to dissolve it. They weren’t a prescriber, and she was never offered a consultation with one. Hyaluronidase is a prescription-only medicine. If nobody in that room could prescribe it, where was it coming from? We’ll let you sit with that.

“Russian lips” is a technique, not a look you order off a menu. In the right anatomy it can be beautiful. Hers wasn’t — smooth, tight tissue with very little natural space. When a lip won’t take volume, the answer is never more volume.

We assessed her, dissolved using proper protocols and testing, then waited two weeks. When she came back the job was deep structural placement and shape, kept conservative. Doing lips well means reading the anatomy in front of you and being honest about what it can hold. Sometimes that means saying no.

We see this constantly. People chasing a deal, signing up as models for treatments they’ve seen online. There’s nothing wrong with being a model — training needs models. But it doesn’t mean you accept a lower standard. You’re still a patient.

Ask before anyone treats you: Are you GMC, NMC or GDC registered? Which product, and can I see the batch? Who prescribes here, and have I met them? What’s your emergency protocol? If this needs reversing, who prescribes it?

If those questions make the room uncomfortable, walk out.

This is what puts people off lip filler. Not filler — bad filler, by people calling themselves trainers. We’re angry about this one.
