There’s a big difference between rest and complete shutdown.
When people feel overwhelmed, stressed, burnt out or sore, movement can feel impossible. But movement doesn’t have to mean high intensity.
Sometimes gentle mobility, stretching, walking or breathwork is exactly what your body needs.
Supportive movement > punishing movement
One of the biggest things I support clients with isn’t fitness — it’s confidence.
Confidence to move again.
Confidence to trust their body.
Confidence to stop feeling like they’re “failing” because they can’t keep up with intense routines.

Over the past 2 years through Active Balance, I’ve had the privilege of helping people feel better in their bodies through massage, yoga, and personal training. One thing I see again and again is how many people feel disconnected from movement because of stress, pain, injury, burnout, or simply losing confidence in themselves.

Unpopular opinion: I hate the scales. I don't believe we should measure ourselves by a number, especially when that number has a say on how we treat ourselves. Dont get me wrong I've stood on those scales a few times during this pregnancy and thought offt 🙈 but that number can be a cheeky trick—it doesn’t show how you feel or how strong you’re getting.
I’ve seen clients get disheartened and frustrated when the scales don’t budge. So I always ask first:
- How do you feel?
- How do your clothes fit?
- How’s your energy?
Usually: I feel great!
So let’s focus on how you feel, not the digits:
- trust your vibe
- celebrate your energy and strength
- keep the momentum going

A beautiful Saturday morning in the treatment room.
Holding space today for deep healing through Reiki Energy Healing and integrative Somatic Breathwork sessions. Where the body softens, the mind quiets and the nervous system begins to feel safe again 🤍
There’s something special about these slower, intentional mornings, a time to reconnect, release and realign.
I have limited appointments available this Bank Holiday Monday (4th May) and Tuesday (5th May), before I close until 15th May for a long overdue dose of sunshine and rest ☀️
