What. A. Magical. Day 🤣🫶🐉

Swim. 🏊
Loved it.
Minus the current, visibility and leaky goggle…

There was a moment, while trying to see through my goggle lens, the sea mist, and while enduring the sting of the salt water to the eye ball, that I really wanted the swim to be over.

Other than that… 🦄… an experience like no other while surrounded by so many amazing supporters: thank you to all the volunteers and cheering clubs at the beach.

I wish I could name everyone I saw on the course- each and every one of you gave me such a boost 💪🩷

Bike. 🏍️
Into the drizzle 🌧️, and powered by the adrenaline of facing 112 miles, I set off.

I had a cold and headache in the week leading up to IMW… which was quite a big stress factor… and it hadn’t gone anywhere by race morning.

The time of the month (ladies will get it) also decided to join the club. So I felt like I was in a cloud for the first 70k 🤣

It turned into, “Can my body do Ironman today? Let’s find out!”

After some wet bars, gels and a paracetamol, things were looking better, and pedalling up Heartbreak Hill truly was something that cannot be put into words.

Well.
What can I say… the support was (again) unbelievable. I saw so many faces of friends and fellow athletes. And appreciated every moment.

I lost my nutrition to sickness (🙂🥲🫠).
And ended up fuelling on sips of water and the juice of orange slices. I love oranges 🍊!

I think I smiled all of the way around. And those last 2kms. Tears of pure emotion that I have (again) - no words for.

Just wow.

What a journey it has been to cross the finish line of IRONMAN Wales!

Steve swam, cycled and ran the route totalling 140.6miles in some brutal weather conditions 🌧️💧

The commitment, hours and effort he has put into his training over the year has been epic to watch, and I’m thankful to have had the pleasure of coaching him. 😁

All of the training days, long cycles, hills, hills and more mountainous hills… and multi-hour runs have paid off.

Steve… you are a Three Time Ironman 😁😎

And in your words, “That’s just childish, that is”. 🤣

Well the day is almost upon us 🐉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌊🚵‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Few things to say before tomorrow:

Firstly - best of luck to everyone out there tomorrow. Dig deep, it will be so worth it.

I’ll be looking out for my fellow Pegasus Athletes, Steve Phillips and Steve Rees 🦄💪, who have both worked so hard to prepare for today!

Regardless of how tomorrow goes, the journey to get to this point has been something else. And I just know the start (and finish) line, will carry so much magic 🪄
