Not your average filler treatment.

My client naturally has excellent cheek projection, but as she reached a milestone age, some of the common signs of ageing had begun to appear.

One of the most noticeable changes was temple hollowing. This is very common in our forties, when the area between the brow arch and the outer eye can lose volume and appear sunken. We will be rebuilding this area gradually and safely over a series of treatments, as it is a highly vascular region.

To further support facial structure, we performed a subtle filler “face-lift” technique with a ramus snap-back treatment in front of the ear, helping to restore support and contour.

Although cheek enhancement is often my first approach when treating nasolabial folds, my client already has naturally prominent cheeks. In this case, additional cheek volume would not have provided the best solution. Instead, we used a cannula technique to place subtle volume directly where it was needed, softening the folds while maintaining her natural facial balance.

These are advanced treatment areas and not standard filler locations. I always offer a thorough consultation prior to treatment to discuss the most suitable options, including skin boosters, PLLA biostimulators, anti-wrinkle treatments, and more.

Filler isn’t always the answer. However, following my client’s incredible weight-loss achievements, our goal was to restore lost volume, enhance facial harmony, and subtly redefine her natural contours.

As beauty & aesthetics professionals, we spend so much time helping clients feel confident in their skin — but sometimes the most important thing we can do is recognise when something needs medical attention instead of cosmetic treatment.

A very close client of mine came to me asking if I could treat a lesion on her nose. Although she initially wanted an aesthetic solution, this was something that immediately concerned me and was completely beyond my scope of practice.

After a lot of encouragement, she finally agreed to get it professionally checked… and thankfully she did, because it turned out to be pre-cancerous.

I’m sharing this as an important reminder that not every skin concern is cosmetic. Sometimes what appears to be a “spot,” “scab,” or “dry patch” can be something much more serious.

Please don’t ignore:
• sores that don’t heal
• crusting or scabbing lesions
• bleeding patches
• persistent redness or irritation
• changes in the skin that linger or worsen

One of the biggest responsibilities in this industry is knowing when NOT to treat and when to refer clients to the appropriate medical professional. Client safety will always come before aesthetics.
