How on earth are you 19 already? Seriously, where has the time gone? It only feels like yesterday you were tiny, and now you’re packing your bags and heading off to Australia. The years have gone by in the blink of an eye.

I couldn’t be prouder of the amazing young woman you’ve become, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going to miss you like crazy. Who’s going to boss me around now? Who’s going to tell me I’m doing everything wrong? I suppose I’ll have to make my own decisions… which is slightly worrying!

Go and have the adventure of a lifetime, make incredible memories, laugh until your cheeks hurt, and enjoy every single second. Just don’t forget me while you’re off living your best life!

Today we celebrated Simon’s life, and I honestly couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful day. Everything about it felt peaceful. The sunshine, the blue skies, everyone coming together… it was one of those days that stays with you. It genuinely felt like heaven was a little closer, and I really felt Simon with us.

Being together today reminded me how lucky I am to have friendships that have lasted a lifetime. We don’t see each other all the time, and life has taken us all in different directions, but some friendships never change. You simply pick up where you left off, and that connection is still there. I don’t think we always realise how special that is until moments like today.

Looking around, I realised we all share so much history. We grew up together, we’ve watched each other become the people we are, and somehow those friendships become part of who you are. They don’t need constant contact to matter—they’re just there, and when you’re together again, it feels easy.

As sad as today was, it was also full of love, laughter, memories, and gratitude. It was such a beautiful celebration of Simon’s life, and one I’ll always remember.

I came home feeling incredibly thankful. Thankful for Simon, for the memories we shared, and for friends who have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Days like today remind you not to wait for the big moments to see the people who matter. Life is precious, friendships are too, and I hope we make more time for each other.
