Brow Mapping ✨

Brow mapping is very individual and it’s essential for the permanent make up artist to understand how to create right shape for each client. Reading client’s features and understanding it is a crucial part to good brows ✨

It starts off with noting client’s bone structure and right placement - especially essential in cases where client barely has any natural eyebrows hair and artist needs to create shape from zero. It also helps to determine what kind of shape and length eyebrows should client have

Natural hair growth helps to determine thickness, but of course thickness of brows can be adjusted to more of a preference. To achieve most natural result I work with natural hair as a starting point so that tattoo naturally blends in and doesn’t look like tattoo. But what natural hair helps most with is determining for example what parts of brows need rebuilding - majority cases in my studio have thinning brows that lack tails or front of brows, so existing hair helps as a guide to rebuild the shape. The hairs outside of brows shape then can be tweezed out (my motto is never remove parts of brows - about this will do another post)

Facial Symmetry - no face is symmetrical and no both sides of face either. That’s why it’s important to take that in to consideration when mapping brows. If you create absolutely identical shape of brows on non identical face sides - the asymmetry of face would become more visible! Always remember brows are sisters, not twins!

Natural muscle movement - this is big one and I know it can be hard especially for less experienced artists to choose the right shape when one side of face naturally lifts up or rounds up when client starts talking (which is very important to know how to adjust!). In extreme cases pmu artist might suggest to client seek aesthetic treatment to address it before having pmu brows
