Hello all lovely customers!
I was dreading to post this message but the time for farewell has come quicker than I thought. From 02 03 2022 The Tanning Studio will be closed.

I would like to thank every single one of you for the amazing 14 years and constant support - I hope my shop was meeting your needs. It was lovely to meet you all and I can tell that I had the best customers on the whole world. But now it's time to move on!

The good news is I won't be far away - so don't miss me too much 😉

I'm moving to 'Beauty Corner' place which is 352 High Street and I will be taking bookings for manicure and pedicure very soon - feel free to leave me a message if you'd like to book your appointment.

I hope I will see at least some of you very soon!

With the increase of social media challenges, and well-meaning, but false tanning tips being spread outside of salons, it is our responsibility to ensure that the practices inside our salon are responsible, both for our lovely clients and equipment!

While you may be tempted to apply whatever lotion you have lying around at home, it is not a good idea to use regular lotions in a tanning bed. One reason for this is that regular tanning lotions contain ingredients that can cause the tanning bed machine to become damaged after building up on the bed’s surface and deteriorating it.

IN OUR SALON WE HAVE AMAZING RANGE OF TANNING LOTIONS AVAILABLE!!

Tanning lotions are proven to have a stark affect on your tanning ability. They have been designed to rejuvenate and repair your skin, keeping it healthier. Healthy skin allows you to tan faster, ensures your tan lasts for longer and gives you a better colour. The vitamins and minerals added can also help to combat the ageing process. By using a tanning lotion, the tanning process is sped up, meaning you save both time and money on tanning sessions to get the same (or even better) results.

Dry skin reflects light, meaning that your tan will be less effective and will need to spend more time tanning to get the same results. Not using a tanning lotion will also lead to drying skin, collagen loss and a loss of elasticity in the skin, overall giving a dull, unhealthy appearance.

We have been made aware of a new TikTok tanning trend which recommends using high street moisturisers in lieu of a tanning lotion whilst on a sunbed. Please make sure that your clients are not doing this! These products are not designed for tanning and therefore will not nourish and rejuvenate the skin properly. They can also damage your sunbed acrylics, resulting in your acrylic becoming cloudy, before cracking and needing to be replaced prematurely!

As always, make sure you ask your clients before every tanning session: "What lotion are you using today?"
