Our lovely Charley is officially heading into her final month behind the chair before she starts her maternity leave and gets ready for her gorgeous new arrival. 👶🏼✨

If you’re one of Charley’s clients and you’ve been meaning to get booked in before she finishes, now is the time! Her remaining appointments are limited and once they’re gone… they’re gone!

The rest of the Earnest & Boyle team will, of course, be here to look after you while Charley is off enjoying all those newborn cuddles. 🤍

We’re going to miss having her in the salon SO much… although we’re already preparing ourselves for approximately 847 baby photos a day 😂

A little update from me ❤️🌈✂️

I’ve come to realise recently that I’ve been overworking for quite a while… and, if I’m being truthful, I’ve started dropping the ball in other areas of my life because of it 🥹

Running a business, being behind the chair, keeping up with everything that comes with the salon AND trying to have a life outside of work has finally made me realise that I can’t keep giving most of my time and energy to work.

Now, I fully understand that most of you are probably thinking…
“Lucy, you’re crazy — you only work 3 days a week!” 😂

And technically,

you’re absolutely right! But let me break those 3 days down…

My working days generally start around 8/9am and finish around 8/9pm.That’s 11–13 hour days!!
Thats with back-to-back clients, no breaks and & no lunch break!! mix in a 20-minute drive either side.
Thats just the physical time spent in the salon.

It doesn’t include all the behind-the-scenes bits that come with running a business.

I LOVE what I do and I adore my clients, but after working like this for a long time, it’s hard going. And lately I’ve realised that I’m giving so much of myself to work that I don’t have enough left for the rest of my life.

I don’t want to be constantly tired, rushing, forgetting things or feeling like I’m dropping the ball because I’ve stretched myself too thin - which is what i have been doing for 2026 🙈😞

So, from February 2027, I’ll be making some changes to my working hours and finally taking a little bit of my time back. I’m not going anywhere! 😂 And I’m certainly not ready to hang up my tailcomb & scissors ✂️🌈

I just want a little more balance. More time to rest, more time for the people (and furry people 🐶) I love, and ultimately more energy to give you the best version of me when you’re sitting in my chair.

I’m finally accepting that working ALL the hours isn’t a badge of honour — and that it’s okay to make life a little easier for myself ❤️🎉

Thank you, as always, for keeping me so ridiculously busy and for supporting me and my little business. I genuinely wouldn’t be in the position to make this decision without you ❤️
