Always grateful for the time you all spent reviewing my treatments
❤️Thank you all once again❤️

The treatments I use are always based on evidence
And they have a tried and proven track record
I'm not following trends or what your friend/ sister/ work colleague had
Together we talk about your issues then develop a plan that tackles these, individual care.

As a registered nurse for 100 hundred years I hold my self accountable for your care and do this with the framework I have used for the past years within the NHS and my aesthetic role.

DM for any information, is there any specific issues you are concerned about ...we could chat

The NHS doesn't remove these skin lesions any longer
I do offer this using my magic cryotherapy device
For the lesions I have specified

Obviously a full consultation is needed
And a recent medical history

Larger lesions may take slightly longer to go but that would be discussed in the clinic with you
No wound , no pain, no downtime

If you have any questions just DM
Or you can book an appointment online via my booking link

Menopause , weather, sun , age, whatever the reason
Dehydrated skin needs help
Nothing flash
Just looking at your cleanser first
Step away from the drying , aggressive foaming types
Look for nourishing creams, oils or milk type cleansers that lend themselves really well to this type of skin

Serums are a go to
And if course a good moisturizer, not tons ,allow it time to sink in
Remember, if you are make up free then you can reapply moisturizer throughout the day

It may not be forever, it may just need that TLC
But listen to your skin
And if it's dry/dehydrated then check out all your skincare
Make sure it's right for you

Maybe pop in to see me for a skin analysis
Or a chat.

That's the thing
It's normal, let's get that straight
We may want to look fresher, brighter ..whatever
But let's normalise menopause, ageing and enjoy it

There are so many ways to help freshen your skin
Boost hydration
Increase skin cell turnover
There's always filler if that's on your want list
Or toxin ,again if that's something you would consider

That's where a great medical practitioner can help
With experience and expertise they can guide you
Discuss what won't work for you , what could work etc
And together you build a skin plan that suits your needs ( and budget)

It's never just one thing

That's why a good initial consultation is key
My first meeting with any new patient is all about this , getting to know them and individual concerns

For my new followers
Hello and this is me

Nurse forever in loads of different roles midwife, ward nurse, community nurse and midwife, GP practice , Nurse practitioner and clinical manager

Working in aesthetics for 15 years within my own clinic
Had a bit of time off with breast cancer , back in clinic after treatment, just a lot wiser and more oestrogen depleted !

Im so lucky , been married for 37 years (that's a lifetime) 2 fab very grown children who are my life, 2 incredible grandchildren who I love to bits and an amazing group of friends.

I like to chat , laugh and while I take my role as your practitioner seriously I've learnt not to take life too seriously!

See you in clinic !

Menopausal skin can be so many things
Sensitive skin , hormonal skin, oily skin, dehydrated skin, rosacea skin, acne skin, tired skin , sagging skin , jowly skin...skin skin

So , Some things we all need , there's always more to talk about , but here's the ones at the core

Five of them
Quick guide , but remember your skin is individual to you, always best to be seen seen , have your skin assessed then your choices will be about your skin integrity

1•A great cleanser , one that doesn't strip away your skin barrier , one that works with your skin to help minimise skin concerns

2•Good SPF , boring I know , but its fundamental .
Not in your make up , but stand alone good 40+

3•Acids - depending on your skin type , Glycolic, Lactic and Polyhydroxy acids are great for older skin.

4•A great antioxidant serum , spend your money wisely , they do a lot of work .

5•Dont forget your retinol , vit A , use it carefully and it will pay dividends

💧And an add on , a basic , the one product menopausal skin craves......
That moisturiser to help soothe out skin , hydrate the cells that the lack of oestrogen has stolen away . Check out what's in yours, what ingredients does it have

Does anyone have any other skin care products they see as essential, have I missed the mark ?

hydration and a little calm .

Sometimes it's best to lie down and relax while your skin mends.

This mask from Alumier is drenched in a deep recovery cocktail of plant rich extracts.💧
It's really soothing for sensitive skin , dry and needing some barrier support

Just put it on, lie down and let the mask do its thing, best thing is I get to relax, taking time.out. Love the mask , love lying down relaxing even more.

There are studies carried out that show the impact ageing skin has on menopausal women
Like, academic papers that show us the impact may have on some women as we live in menopause.

These changes arise from the gradual loss and structure of collagen and elastic fibres. Loss of bone, fat pads change and shift.
This contributes to the appearance of an ageing face and body with increasing alterations in density, moisture levels, texture and skin tone.

These studies prove these changes can negatively impact self‐esteem

We know skin appearance strongly impacts emotional well‐being, how we see ourselves, life satisfaction and social interactions on a day to day basis.

So it's ok for us to feel like this, it is completely normal so..

Don't feel you are 'vain'
Dont feel embarrassed you want a little advice
Don't feel you need to justify your choices to others
Don't feel you need to do anything if you are happy in yourself

We are the first generation to feel the impact of ageing like this , do what you want to do. Your choice

It's something that never occurred to me until I really thought about it
What the menopause gave me, with lack of oestrogen, bone loss, increased risk of cardiac problems , brain fog , skin laxity and changes in texture... I could go on !
Menopause has given me more jobs to do !
Like I needed that

Lists, gym with strength training and impact exercises, more walking to improve cardiac function, regular pelvic floor exercises , supplements I know work, good diet to support skin and health . I need to find time to make all this happen

My health before was taken for granted, now I realise I need to be on it , to make sure I'm as healthy as I can be going forward,as strong as I can be.

Consistency in all of this and of course this includes your changes in skincare .
That's the key
Changes don't happen overnight
But overtime that's where you will see improvements
