Life and business update

This by all means not goodbye,
I’m coming up to my first year of business with the salon and a lot of you have noticed that I have not been myself lately. I will be completely honest and real with everybody. Recently I’ve struggled with my mental health which has truly affected my business and I’m sure everyone who has had a business can say when personal
Life and business life both become stressful it’s hard to see the way forward and the way out of the mindset.

It’s hard to come to terms with your first year of business it’s always the hardest. You put everything into a business from money, time, blood sweat and Tears. This first year of business I’ve felt like a failure to myself and to the salon.
Everything comes at a cost and with time, which over the period of the last 6months I’ve felt like I’ve lost myself and that is purely down to battling through my first year of business giving 100% of effort on building a team and financially.

I knew this would be hard I never thought it would be an easy journey. I see why a lot of business fold with in or after there first year, figuring out what best for the business and making mistakes. In reality as a business owner what’s best for you and the business.

I’ve decided the best thing I can do for myself is to drop down a few days to ensure I can give 100% to all my clients and to myself also. It’s a hard decisions but with working 6 days a week and on my day off going to the salon to ensure everything is set and ready for the next week is nearly impossible to be also having prioritise myself, friends and family. As you learn mistakes along the way I can say with hand on heart I have scraped through my first year of business and it’s okay to feel like I have failed and just to improve.

I know it’s taking down my days is going to affect the business more financially this year but I will be giving 100% of what I can whilst also taking care of me. No one talks about there first year of business and how hard it truly is, I’ve felt challenged but up against myself and finding it hard to get through a day with out anxiety about the next months to come and even getting out of bed in the morning, days full of laughter and happiness to go home in tears.

If you are ever feeling so low no matter the situation I got in contact with my doctor and I’m seeking the help I need and it’s okay to not feel okay and take a step back just so you can find your way again, in my case with the salon.

I always want to be honest with everyone as much as I can and I know a lot of friends and clients have noticed and have been worried about me and I’m grateful to have so many people that care how myself and the salon are doing. This year will be another hard year but with out my clients loyalty and all the lovely new clients I have met this year and my amazing team I wouldn’t have just about pulled through with out you all and that makes my heart so full.
I hope you all understand.

Please all still do what you are doing and booking in my myself and my amazing team also , we will always love seeing all your faces, like I said you are all the reason I got to achieve my little salon anyway and I couldn’t be more grateful.
