MYTH: "Natural ageing means doing nothing."
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I hear in aesthetics.
Choosing to age naturally doesn't mean ignoring your skin.
It doesn't mean skipping SPF.
It doesn't mean neglecting skincare.
It doesn't mean accepting every change without question.
We colour our hair.
We wear makeup.
We exercise.
We eat well.
We look after our teeth.
Yet somehow, when it comes to our skin, some people believe that any effort to maintain or improve it means you're no longer ageing "naturally".
The truth is, ageing is inevitable.
How you choose to support your skin through that process is entirely personal.
For some, that's a great skincare routine and daily SPF.
For others, it may include treatments that improve skin quality, stimulate collagen, or soften the signs of ageing.
There is no prize for doing nothing.
There is also no obligation to do everything.
The goal shouldn't be to look younger than you are.
The goal should be to look healthy, confident and comfortable in your own skin at every age.
What does "ageing naturally" mean to you? π

The summer holidays are over, the kids are back at school, and for the first time in weeks... you might finally have a moment for yourself.
So, when was the last time you gave your skin the attention it deserves?
After months of sunshine, holidays, SPF, heat and late nights, your skin may be feeling a little neglected. If your glow has faded, pigmentation has become more noticeable, or your complexion is looking dull and dehydrated, now is the perfect time for a seasonal reset.
π§ The HydroGlass Experience delivers the ultimate skin refresh, combining advanced skincare with intense hydration to restore luminosity, smoothness and that healthy, glass-skin glow.
β¨ COβ Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing works on a deeper level to improve sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines, acne scarring and skin texture, stimulating collagen and revealing fresher, healthier-looking skin. With autumn and winter approaching, there has never been a better time to start your skin transformation.
The school run is back. The routine is back. Now it's time to put yourself back on the priority list.

One thing I love about this industry is that there's always something new to learn. Yesterday I joined fellow aesthetic nurses at Perfect 32 Clinic in Beverley for a fantastic educational event hosted by BAMAN and FillMed. β¨οΈ
It's so important to me that I continue investing in my education and professional development. Not only does it keep me up to date with the latest evidence and innovations, but it ensures I'm providing the safest, most effective treatments for my patients. π
Thank you to & - our Yorkshire BAMAN leads for facilitating and for your wealth of knowledge on JuveLook and Lenisna! And of course, it was lovely to spend time with such a lovely group of nurse colleagues too. β€οΈ

β¨ Confidence hits differently when it's real. β¨
Thereβs nothing better than hearing that a patient not only loves their results, but felt completely at ease throughout their journey too.
"Jo was amazing from start to finish... I have gained so much confidence."
That right there is why I do what I do. π€
Beautiful, natural-looking results are important, but so is feeling listened to, supported and cared for every step of the way.

Radiesse vs Sculptra: Which Collagen Stimulator is Right for You?
β¨ Radiesse
β’ Immediate lift and volume restoration
β’ Stimulates your body's natural collagen production
β’ Strong contouring and definition, especially for the jawline and lower face
β’ Improves skin quality and texture when diluted
β’ Results can last up to 18 months
β’ Usually requires fewer treatment sessions (1-2)
β¨ Sculptra
β’ Gradual, natural-looking volume restoration
β’ Powerful collagen stimulation throughout the face
β’ Improves skin firmness, elasticity and thickness
β’ Ideal for widespread volume loss and facial ageing
β’ Results can last 2 years or more
β’ Builds beautiful results over a series of treatments (2-4)
π‘ My general rule? Radiesse is fantastic when you want visible lifting, contour and structure, while Sculptra excels at restoring lost volume and rejuvenating the face from within.

β¨οΈ Looking tired, heavy around the lower face, or noticing a loss of definition? Radiesse is one of my favourite treatments for restoring structure while also improving skin quality β¨οΈ
βοΈ Instant lift and volume restoration
βοΈ Strong contouring effect for improved definition
βοΈ Stimulates your body's natural collagen production
βοΈ Long-lasting results for up to 18 months
βοΈ Can be used to restore lost volume or improve skin texture and firmness
The best part? You leave with visible results, but the treatment continues working behind the scenes as new collagen develops over the following months.
Natural-looking, refreshed, and beautifully supported. π«

Holy mole-y!
This raised, textured lesion was more stubborn than expected and needed several rounds of cryotherapy treatments to achieve the result we were aiming for. π
It's now dramatically reduced, almost completely flat, and just about gone!
A reminder that not every treatment delivers instant results. Sometimes the most satisfying transformations come from sticking with the plan and trusting the process.

β¨ Think jawline enhancement requires syringes and syringes of filler? Think again.
This result was achieved with just 1.5ml of Radiesse.
One of the biggest misconceptions in aesthetics is that noticeable results always require large volumes of product. In reality, the right product, placed in the right area, can create subtle yet impactful changes that enhance your natural features without looking overdone.
Radiesse is one of my favourite treatments for improving:
βοΈ Early jowling
βοΈ Loss of jawline definition
βοΈ Mild skin laxity
βοΈ Marionette lines
βοΈ A weak or poorly defined chin
βοΈ A lack of lower face structure and support
Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid filler, Radiesse not only provides immediate structural support but also stimulates your own collagen production over time, helping to improve skin quality and firmness.
The result? A more defined, supported and refreshed lower face that still looks completely natural.
Sometimes, less really is more. π«

People hear the words lip filler and immediately picture giant, overfilled lips that arrive in the room before the person does. π
But here's the thing...
Lip filler doesn't automatically create that look.
In fact, results like that usually require multiple syringes of filler over time and a practitioner who's either ignoring facial balance or more interested in giving a patient what they ask for than what actually suits them.
Most of my lip filler patients don't want "filler lips". They want their lips to look healthier, more defined and hydrated, and in proportion with the rest of their features.
This before and after is exactly that.
Natural. Balanced. Slightly enhanced.
The kind of result that leaves people wondering if you've changed your lipstick, had a great holiday, or are just looking particularly well lately.
Because contrary to popular belief, good lip filler shouldn't be the first thing people notice about your face. π

Ever assumed that anyone calling themselves a "nurse" is actually a nurse?
You might be surprised to learn that whilst "Registered Nurse" is a legally protected title in England, "nurse" is not.
Currently, it is a criminal offence for someone to falsely claim to be a Registered Nurse or to imply that they are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) when they are not. This protection exists to help patients and the public identify professionals who have met recognised standards of education, training and regulation.
However, someone who is not a registered nurse can currently use the title "nurse" in many circumstances, creating the potential for confusion and, in some cases, misleading the public.
The Government and the NMC are now exploring whether the title "nurse" should also be protected in law, making it a criminal offence for someone who is not a registered nurse to present themselves as one. The aim is simple: greater clarity, greater transparency and greater protection for patients.
This isn't just a discussion for healthcare professionals.

β€οΈ Patients and service users
π’ Members of the public
Everyone can have their say.
As someone who has been a Registered Nurse for 17 years, I know the education, accountability and regulation that sit behind that title.
The question is:
Should protecting "Registered Nurse" be enough, or should the title "nurse" be protected too?
