Do you have raised brown patches on your skin?
They may actually be seborrhoeic keratoses — one of the most common skin blemishes we see.
These harmless blemishes often appear as raised brown patches with a rough, waxy or slightly crusty surface. They can develop on the face, scalp, chest, back, neck and many other areas of the body.
Many people assume they're simply part of getting older. Others worry they may be something more serious.
The good news is that seborrhoeic keratoses are harmless, and many people are surprised to discover they can often be removed safely and precisely using Advanced Electrolysis.
I offer a complimentary consultation with no obligation, so if you're unsure exactly what a blemish is, you're always welcome to come in for a chat.
Once we've identified a blemish as a seborrhoeic keratosis, treatment can often be carried out straight away if you'd like to go ahead.
Unlike many clinics, treatment is charged by time rather than per blemish, which often means several blemishes can be treated during a single session.

Facial hair changes during menopause
One thing many women notice during menopause is an increase in facial hair.
It might start with the occasional chin hair, a few hairs on the upper lip, or perhaps hairs appearing in places they've never been before.
For some women, it can feel as though it happens almost overnight.
Many find themselves spending more time plucking, tweezing or checking the mirror than they ever did before.
If this sounds familiar, you're certainly not alone.
We regularly see women who have noticed changes in facial hair during menopause and are looking for a more permanent solution than constantly removing the hairs themselves.
Electrolysis is the only medically recognised method of permanent hair removal and can treat all hair colours, including grey, white, blonde and red hairs.
If you'd like to find out more, we offer a complimentary consultation and a free 10-minute treatment session.

One thing many women with PCOS have in common is unwanted facial hair. It can become part of daily life – checking the mirror, plucking, waxing, threading or shaving, only to find yourself dealing with the same hairs again a few days later.
The reality is that you're far from alone. PCOS can influence hormone levels, which may lead to increased facial hair growth on areas such as the chin, upper lip, jawline and neck.
Many of the clients we see have spent years trying different methods of managing unwanted hair before discovering electrolysis.
Electrolysis is the only medically recognised method of permanent hair removal and can effectively treat all hair colours, including grey, blonde, white and red hairs.
Although PCOS can continue to cause new hairs to develop over time, electrolysis can permanently remove the hairs that have been treated. This is one of the reasons many women with PCOS choose electrolysis as a long-term solution for managing unwanted facial hair.
If you're considering electrolysis and would like to learn more, we offer a complimentary consultation and a free 10-minute treatment session. It's a chance to discuss your concerns, see how electrolysis feels and find out whether it's right for you.

One question we're often asked is why laser hair removal doesn't always remove every hair permanently.
Laser relies on pigment (colour) within the hair in order to work effectively. Hairs with less pigment, such as blonde, grey, white and some red hairs, can therefore be more difficult to treat successfully.
Even when laser works well, it is generally regarded as a method of long-term hair reduction rather than permanent hair removal.
This means that some people find they still need ongoing maintenance treatments, or that certain hairs continue to return over time.
Electrolysis works differently.
Rather than relying on pigment, electrolysis treats each hair follicle individually, which means it can effectively treat all hair colours, including grey, white, blonde and red hairs.
Electrolysis is also the only medically recognised method of permanent hair removal, making it a popular choice for people looking for a lasting solution to unwanted hair.
If you're considering electrolysis and would like to learn more, we offer a complimentary consultation and a free 10-minute treatment session. It's a chance to discuss your concerns, see how electrolysis feels and find out whether it's the right option for you.

PCOS-related hair growth is something many women quietly deal with for years.
A lot of women who come to us with PCOS-related hair growth have often spent years managing it with temporary methods like shaving, waxing, threading, or plucking.
Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal that offers a permanent solution. Rather than simply removing the hair, electrolysis destroys the part of the follicle responsible for hair growth so the hair doesn’t grow back.
Because electrolysis does not rely on pigment, it can also treat blonde, grey, white, and finer hairs that other methods are often unable to treat effectively.
Hair grows in cycles, so not all hairs are visible at the same time. That’s why treatment happens gradually over a period of time rather than all at once.
If you’re dealing with PCOS-related hair growth and would like honest advice about whether electrolysis may be suitable for you, I offer free consultations which also include a complimentary 10-minute treatment so you can experience electrolysis for yourself before deciding whether you’d like to go ahead.
