Microneedling can be a really effective way to support post-op scar recovery, but timing and approach are everything 🤝
At Adnova, we typically begin treatment from around 6 weeks post-surgery, once the skin has had time to properly close and start its natural healing process. From there, microneedling works by breaking down scar tissue and stimulating collagen production, which helps to soften, smooth and improve the overall appearance of scars over time ⏳
Each individual skin responds differently and that’s completely normal. Some areas may show more erythema (redness) or pinpoint bleeding than others during treatment, which is a simple indication of how your skin is reacting and repairing- not an indication that something is wrong 😅
When it comes to results, there’s no one-size-fits-all. Some people notice improvements quite quickly, while others need a more gradual approach. A course of treatments is usually recommended, tailored to your skin, your scar and how your body heals ❤️🩹
