INDEPENDENT NURSE PRESCRIBER 💉👩‍🎓

This one means a lot

It’s a title I’ve been chasing for years and honestly one I thought was so far out of reach at times

But I only bloody did it 😬

Months of studying, clinical hours, exams, portfolios, case studies, trying to squeeze assignments around work and life, and questioning on more than one occasion why I’d signed myself up for this much pharmacology 😂

BUT, I can finally say I’m officially an Independent Nurse Prescriber 🤯🥳

I would also like to say a huge thank you to Mr Durrant Charles Durrant - Plastic Surgeon, Mr Heppell Simon Heppell and Anna Anna Eastman Aesthetics at Adnova Clinic - not only for your support, guidance, encouragement and sharing your invaluable knowledge throughout, but for giving me the opportunity to actually do it in the first place.. you guys really are the best and I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people 🙏

And to the whole team at Adnova - thank you for allowing me opportunities to learn and grow, whilst supporting me to become a better nurse and practitioner

I am very proud of this one… and also quite happy to never look at another prescribing portfolio again 🤪

Here’s to this next chapter - more learning, more opportunities and continuing to build a career that baby nurse Siân would be pretty bloody proud of 🥂

A consultation isn’t just about choosing a treatment - it’s about understanding you as a whole

Your goals
Your medical history
Your anatomy
Your lifestyle
& whether that treatment is actually the right choice for you as an individual

The consultation is where we create a plan and understand your desired outcomes, NOT to discuss what’s trending or what your friend has just had

Sometimes the best outcome is a different treatment than you came in asking for… and sometimes it’s no treatment at all

The best results often start with the right plan, not the quickest appointment

My job isn’t to sell treatments; it’s to make sure you’re having the right treatment, for the right reasons, at the right time

& that’s why every journey should start with a consultation 🤝

A few of my ‘gloves off’ moments include (& in no particular order);

• watching sunsets, hugging trees and being by the sea
• escaping to the Lakes and Ibiza whenever I can (my two happy places at opposite ends of the spectrum)
• prioritising wellness and skincare rituals
• planning my next city break or holiday (I’m not fussy which one)
• walking and being humiliated by my chi chi
• two stepping at festivals and events
• eating far too much
•rightly or wrongly being fascinated by true crime documentaries and podcasts
• wandering around a garden centre far longer than necessary
• making memories with my son, niece and nephew
• reminiscing with family
• trying to make more time for reading and colouring (because the inner child in me deserves some attention too)
• laughing uncontrollably and just generally being with my friends
• doing anything (& I do mean anything), with my super silly, lovingly sweet and incredibly handsome man

Because life isn’t all treatment plans, postoperative care and clinic days - something I try to remind myself of when I’m feeling overwhelmed 😌
