Lymph nodes can be tricky to understand, but knowing the basics can help you recognise what may be normal and when something needs checking. Lymph nodes filter lymphatic fluid and contain immune cells called lymphocytes. When your body responds to infection or inflammation, these cells become active and multiply, which can cause nearby nodes to enlarge. A swollen node does not automatically mean something serious. What matters is where it is, how it feels, whether it is growing and how long it has been present. Some nodes remain slightly enlarged after an immune response, but a new, growing, hard, fixed or unexplained node should be medically assessed. Necrosis cannot be identified by touch alone and requires medical imaging and sometimes further testing. Know your nodes, but never self diagnose. Save and share this. It could help someone recognise a change and seek medical advice sooner. 🤎

Actually being here in London, ready to learn from her tomorrow, feels a little surreal.
I’m constantly investing in my knowledge because I don’t just want to do treatments. I want to understand the body, the lymphatic system and the WHY behind what I’m doing.
Tomorrow I get to add another layer of specialist knowledge to DermaSculpt and bring it all back to my lovely clients in Chorley. 🤎

I actually followed Sophie before I even began my own journey as a therapist. I watched her work, her results, her knowledge and the way she built such a name for herself in the body contouring industry.
To me, she really is one of the queens of the contouring world 👑
So the fact that next week I’ll actually be travelling to London to train with her in person feels a little surreal.
I’m beyond excited, incredibly grateful and, if I’m honest, probably going to be like a kid at Christmas for the next seven days.

Every course I take, every technique I learn and every bit of knowledge I add is about becoming better at what I do and bringing my clients at DermaSculpt Studio Chorley the very best treatments I possibly can.
