Soap Glow
Yesterday I was delighted to meet up again with Karen and Amanda who have formed Soap Glow to hear more about their innovative work.
Based out of St Bernard’s Primary in Shawhead Soap Glow provides boxes of hygiene items to families and households that may be struggling. The service is discreet and confidential.
Folk can self refer, or if acting on behalf of an organisation, you can refer a family in to get this support.

Today was good for the soul. ❤️
The Soap Glow kids spent the afternoon at Highgate Care Home.
A few chats. A few laughs. A few stories shared.
Young and old, spending time together.
Sometimes that’s all it takes. 🧼💙
Today wasn’t really about the pop-up shop.
Yup, the Soap Glow kids helped price things, serve customers and pack everything .
But the bit I’ll remember is watching them chat and engage with the residents at Highgate Care Home.
Different generations. Different life experiences. Yet within minutes they were laughing together like old pals.
There was something really lovely about it.
The kids left with stories they’d never heard before, and hopefully the residents left knowing they matter to a bunch of young people who genuinely enjoyed their company.
Thanks to everyone at Highgate for having us. A warm, caring place with lovely staff and residents.
Sometimes the best thing we can give each other isn’t a product or a service.
It’s our time. ❤️🧼💙
