What can we achieve with lip filler?

Not everyone’s needs are the same and so the lip should be treated according to the clients desired results and the anatomy of the individual’s lips.

💉create volume
💉correct a down turned smile
💉create definition
💉alter the natural shape

💉reverse the signs of ageing

Let’s talk vascular occlusion 🩸💉

What is it? - it is the blocking of an artery.

How does it occur from fillers? - so this can happen in two ways. The first being that the artery has been injected directly into with filler and the second is where too much filler has been placed next to an artery causing compression on that artery.

How is it resolved? - several methods will most likely be used in order to unlock the artery. These include, massage, warm compression, aspirin and a product called hyalase.

What does hyalase do? - hyalase will be administered into the area where the blockage has occurred and it will dissolve the filler.

Can I still have treatment? - once the blockage has been resolved and blood flow is restored you will need to leave several weeks before treatment is carried out again. This is because the hyalase will continue to be present for a few weeks. Once enough time he passed you may then go ahead with the original treatment if you wish to.

Is a vascular occlusion dangerous? - not if your practitioner is competent, confident and knowledgeable. Do your research make sure that your practitioner has an emergency kit that includes hyalase and that they know how to administer it for an emergency dissolve.

What is aspiration?

Aspiration is a technique whereby we insert the needle into the treatment area and pull back on the plunger of the syringe for 10 seconds before administering any product.

Why do we do it?

This technique gives us a good indication as to wether we are in a vessel and allows us to carry out treatments in the safest way possible.

What is a positive aspiration?

A positive aspiration is when blood enters the syringe during aspiration. This indicates that we are almost certainly in a vessel and we know it is not safe to administer product in this area.

What happens if there is a positive aspiration?

We simply remove our needle without administering any product.

Can I still have the treatment?

Yes we can still continue on with treatment if safe to do so. We would simply re position our needle or select a new injection site.

We get so many questions regarding amounts of filler.

So here is some perspective for you ☺️ You can fit 5x 1ml syringes on a teaspoon.

For some people 1ml may be enough to achieve the desired look, how ever others may require more and this may need to be built up over time and require several appointments. This will also depend on the area being treated, areas such as cheeks and jaws require larger amounts of filler. The amounts of filler will also depend on the individuals own anatomy, facial structures and goals. This is why face to face consultations are very important.

Please DM us to book a free face to face consultation 💉
