Glycolic Acid is part of the AHA family, Alpha Hydroxy Acids and has the smallest molecular structure of the acids which allows for rapid pe*******on into the epidermal layers and the potential to work at the deepest pe*******on level in the skin.

Glycolic is a keratolytic and works by dissolving the (desmesome) protein bonds which gives cells cohesion to each other. By removing these bonds, the cells can shed away effectively giving a thorough resurfacing and exfoliation of the skin. This is especially beneficial for skin that retains dulling skin cells such as a mature, ageing skin or those with problematic breakout prone conditions.

The removal of skin cells speeds up cell renewal, bringing fresh new cells to the surface and stimulating the production of collagen to help support the skin and offer a rejuvenated effect.
