Madi’s story with Remedi actually started long before she ever worked here.

She first met me when she was around 12, coming along to her mum’s laser appointments. She remembers watching her mum’s results change over time, seeing the confidence it gave her and noticing the trust her mum had in me and the treatments.

As she got older, that interest in laser just grew.

At 16, Madi actually approached me about an apprenticeship. At the time, I just didn’t have the capacity to take someone on properly, so the timing wasn’t right.

But she didn’t give up 😂

At 18, she came back and asked again.

By then, she knew she wanted a career in laser and was adamant that if she was going to do it, she wanted to learn properly and from someone she trusted. Her mum had always told her that if she was serious about entering the industry, she wanted her learning from me too, which still feels very special.

Madi completed her VTCT Level 2, 3 and 4 qualifications, giving her a strong foundation in skin, hair, anatomy and laser and light treatments.

But as anyone who knows me knows, I don’t believe a qualification alone makes someone a good laser practitioner.

So Madi spent a full year training closely alongside me before she treated clients independently.

She shadowed consultations, treatments and client journeys, learnt how to assess different skin and hair types, how to adapt treatments, how to understand reactions and progression, and most importantly, how to put client safety and care first.

She was never rushed.

I wanted her to understand why she was doing something, not just how to press the button.

And watching her grow in confidence since then has been amazing.

She started off quite shy and unsure of herself, and now she’s bubbly, chatty, caring, a little bit Type A 😂 and a total perfectionist when it comes to her work.

She’s now been treating independently for around two years, and I’m incredibly proud of the practitioner she’s become.

From sitting in the corner of her mum’s appointments at 12…

- How long does it take?
A beard treatment is relatively quick, with treatment time depending on the areas being treated, but it’s usually around 5-10 minutes of actual laser time.

-How many sessions?
Most clients need a course of around 6–10 sessions, although the number varies depending on hair colour, thickness, skin type, hormones and individual response. Maintenance sessions may also be recommended.
