✨ From box dye overwhelm to calm, glossy confidence… this one’s a transformation you feel, not just see 🤎
She came to me after feeling completely overstimulated in busy, loud salons… the kind where you feel like you have to just sit and push through 🥺
Hair became something she handled alone, box dye after box dye, just to avoid that experience.
But the build-up, the banding, the uneven lift… it all caught up.
And when she tried to return to a salon, it still didn’t feel right.
So she found a quieter, more sensory-inclusive space here at Lacuna Ro Colchester, somewhere she could actually relax, feel heard, and trust the process 🤍
We started gently, because this wasn’t just about hair, it was about rebuilding comfort too… 😌
First step, a flash wash using Flash Lift Level 9 with Bonder, lifting through that stubborn box dye by 1 to 2 levels without compromising the integrity of her hair.
Then we moved into strategic placement, diagonal foils through the front to break up the heaviness, paired with soft balayage and tip-outs through the back to create dimension and movement. Again using Redken Flash Lift with Bonder to keep everything protected while lifting.
Once we reached that level 6 to 7 base, we refined.
For her root melt, we used Redken Color Gel Oils in 7NW and 6NW, creating a soft, natural depth.
Through the mid-lengths and ends, we balanced everything with Redken Shades EQ in 7NA and 7NW, working with the warmth, not against it.
Instead of over-toning, we used that warmth to reflect light, giving the illusion of brightness while keeping that rich brunette tone.
The result… a dimensional, glossy level 6 to 7 chestnut brunette that feels soft, expensive, and completely her 🤎
But more than that… she left feeling calm, comfortable, and confident again. And that’s the real transformation 🫶
