We’ve received funding from the Health Lottery Foundation!

Thanks to the support of the Health Lottery Foundation and its players, we’re able to introduce a new Movement and Wellbeing Programme here at Elisha House.

The funding will allow us to run weekly Tai Chi sessions, monthly Drama Therapy days and even put on a Community Theatre Production! 🎭

We’re really looking forward to getting the lads involved and seeing what they make of it all.

A big thank you to the Health Lottery Foundation and everyone who plays for helping us make this happen! 🙏

Scott is coming up to one year clean tomorrow.

In his own words, he talks about where his addiction took him - in and out of hospital and struggling with ketamine addiction.

It’s a pretty honest look at how difficult things got, but also how much can change.

To mark the milestone, Scott is running a marathon round Colne this Saturday 🏃‍♂️

Anyone is welcome to join him, even if you just fancy doing 5k!

One year clean, Scott. What an achievement. 💪

Just a normal day around the café ☕️

A bit of serving, a bit of chatting and plenty going on in between. Sometimes it’s the simple, everyday moments that make up life at Elisha House.

Recovery isn’t always quick.
It isn’t always easy.
It doesn’t look the same for everyone.
And it definitely isn’t perfect.

Some days feel like a step forward, others might feel like a step back. That’s all part of it.

Recovery looks different for everyone, but no one has to figure it out alone. 🤝

A few things that can change along the way -confidence, learning to be more open and loving, being honest, and knowing there are people who genuinely care.

And most importantly, recovery doesn’t mean giving up on the life you wanted. You can still build that life. 🌱

A message of hope” from Danny.

Having been through addiction himself, Danny knows how difficult it can be to take that first step. In the video, he talks about getting in the trenches, listening and being open to the guidance around you - something that benefited him when he came to Elisha and continues to benefit him today.

Now, as a full-time Support Worker, Danny gets to use what he’s learned to support others too. 🙌

It’s the people that make up so much of Elisha House. Everyone’s got their own story, but along the way there’s a lot of support between the group-getting through the difficult days, enjoying the good ones and having people around who understand what you’re going through. 🤝

We’ve picked out a few words and phrases that sum up what Elisha means to the people who’ve been through it. Everyone’s experience is different, but these are some of the things that seem to come up time and time again. 🙌
