Usually it’s what happens before and after the blowdry that affects how long it lasts… 👇🏽
A few things that stylists do to make styling last longer…
🧴 Start with the right shampoo & conditioner, heavy products can weigh the hair down making it drop faster. If you want volume or movement, choose a lightweight shampoo and conditioner suited to your hair type.
🔥 Always use heat protection, styling without heat protection can cause dryness & breakage, making hair harder to style. A good heat protectant also helps smooth the cuticle and improve the finish.
🧊Let the hair cool before anything else, heat shapes the hair… cooling sets the hair. Brushing or moving the section while it’s still warm affects the volume and shape.
😴Use dry shampoo before bed, when using dry shampoo I know most of you will use it the day it’s needed… Try using it the night before.. using it before bed helps absorb oil overnight and keeps your roots lifted for longer (thank me later 🙊)
💤 Protect your hair while you sleep, at all costs. Loose pony/bun/braid in a none elastic bobble (invisibobbles are a personal fave for me), Use a silk or satin pillowcase this can help prevent flattening, frizz and friction.
