Sometimes I wonder if it’s obvious to clients what I actually do…🤔

And I’m not talking about the beautiful, glossy nails they leave with - I’m talking about the getting there.

During an appointment last Friday, I had that lovely realisation that it is…

Part way through one of my regular client’s appointments, after carefully and gently removing her gel polish from her previous set 3 weeks ago (for her son’s wedding - very exciting!), meticulously prepping her nails, and carrying out precise cuticle care, she said it:

“A lot of it’s the prep, isn’t it?”

There it was!

This is the Dreamy difference. Long before any colour even touches your nails 💅

Application itself actually isn’t the part of the appointment that takes the most time. A huge amount of the work happens beforehand through detailed prep and careful removal, helping to create that smooth, flawless finish and long-lasting result.

Depending on the service and condition of your nails, prep alone typically takes between 40–60 minutes of your 75–120 minute appointment at Dreamy.

You can’t build a beautiful house on poor foundations, and this is why I choose quality over quantity and won’t cut corners. I want to be just as proud of the nails I create as you are to wear them.

Don’t you agree, there’s just something special about this time of year? 🐑🌷🐰🌼

Lighter mornings, a little bit more sunshine starting to creep in, and finally feeling that we’re slowly coming out of winter. Basically, coming out of hibernation and wanting to feel a bit more like yourself again. I know it’s not just me on this one!

I notice it at my nail desk, slowly but surely! My lovely Dreamy clients starting to choose softer colours, fresher sets, and ready for a little more care after months of cold weather and busy schedules.

It’s not about a big show-stopping transformation, but the small, considered details that help you to feel a bit more put-together again.

A tidy, healthy nail, a glossy, polished finish, and an hour or two to sit, switch off, relax and be looked after.

Hello again! It’s been a little while 😅

If I’m honest, I’ve been a bit quieter on here than I’d planned! Life has felt a little full, and I’ve been trying to get better at taking some time out for myself too - something I encourage my lovely clients to do, but don’t always take my own advice on (we're all guilty of that aren't we?!).

So here I am to say hello again 👋

Behind the scenes at Dreamy, it’s still a one-woman team... ME 😊.

Working one-to-one with all of you lovely clients, creating calm, unhurried appointments, and giving each set of nails the time, patience and care they really deserve. That part hasn’t changed.

If anything, this little step back has reminded me why I do things the way I do. Slower, more considered, more personal, and ALWAYS focused on quality over quantity.

We’ve escaped more snow (for now) and been treated to a little bit of sun instead, but whatever the weather, winter can be surprisingly tough on your nails ❄️

Cold air outside, heating indoors, and all the extra hand-washing we typically do through cold & flu season can quietly strip moisture from both skin and nails.

It’s something I notice at my nail desk more in winter than any other time of year:
dry cuticles, peeling layers, brittle nails and unhappy skin.
A few simple habits can make a real difference 👇

Frequent washing is essential, but very drying. Reapplying hand cream helps restore moisture and support the skin barrier.

✨ 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗶𝗹 = 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲
A good quality, dedicated cuticle oil keeps nails flexible, hydrated and less prone to splitting. Applying once or twice a day is ideal.

Cleaning products and prolonged water exposure are harsh on nails and skin. Gloves protect against dehydration and unnecessary stress on your nails.

I’ve been fairly quiet on socials recently, but behind the scenes it’s been busy! At Dreamy it’s just me - no team, no social media manager - and I took a little time off over Christmas and New Year too to relax and reset.

So it feels like a good moment to say hello again, whether you’re new here or already know me.

I work one-to-one from my private home workspace in Congleton, offering calm, unrushed appointments with a strong focus on care, attention to detail and nails that last. My clients come for the personal service as much as the finished nails - and that’s exactly how I like it!
