Hello 👋🏼
It’s that time again for me to reintroduce myself, I’m Genna, autism mumma and SEND specialist hairdresser (I also work with neurotypical children who just find haircuts tricky). I have been doing this now for just over 5 years. I have first hand experience in just how difficult haircuts can be and also have a barrage of qualifications to go alongside hands on life experience.
I work closely with you and your little human to achieve minimal stress haircuts, by using elements of play therapy and speech and language therapy to enable me to build rapport and trust with your little human. I am a firm believer that this is not a one box fits all kinda job. I have seen everything, and I’m also very used to it, I work with what works for your child. Whether that be haircuts outside (personal fav), I’ve done haircuts in the bath & paddling pools, haircuts while having a cuddle with parents, lots of wiggle breaks, I’ve seen tears, biting, even sickness! I will not push your child into a corner to get results if they’re not ready or willing, it will ultimately come down to your call after I’ve explained pros/cons and what I believe will happen in the situation based on previous experience. I’m here to help!
I am primarily mobile, and work across several counties including Northants, Leics, Rutland, Coventry & Bedfordshire. I am resident hairdresser at Redkite on Friday afternoons for pupils who attend. My appointments last one hour and start at £25 for appointments within Corby, surrounding areas will incur a travel charge to cover time & fuel.

My afterschool availability is quite limited and I do book around 3-6 months in advance but I do have some day time slots that have opened up.
