The Mop Shop was co-founded 26 years ago by brother and sister team Andy Deakin and Fiona Bench. It has always been located in Coventry University's student union and recently moved with it to The Hub Building. They offer a full range of hairdressing services including colouring, highlights, cutting and styling for both every gender....
Contrary to popular belief, The Mop Shop is not run by students nor does it train student hairdressers. It was opened to cater to the hairdressing needs of students and staff of Coventry University with prices that compete with even the cheapest hairsalons. They offer a full consultation and after care advice to every customer along with a free hair wash on request..

Well that's all folks !
It was our Last day at Coventry University today ,after over 30yrs of the hairdressers being on campus .
I am so very grateful to every single person that has walked through the salon door
Over the last 14 or so years and continues to support us all .
Thank you to Andy and Fiona for allowing me to work in such a fun and welcoming place.
After all they were the founders of the Mop Shop ...
Myself and Nikki Davies will be moving over to
Chaplin's Cannon Park Shopping Centre by Warwick university .
SUE on Mondays and Saturday then offering my home or mobile service
Nikki is working there on a Tuesday .
Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement.

Salon closure notice
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that After over 30 years THE MOP SHOP will be closing its doors permanently.
It has not been a easy decision to make and I can only apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment it may cause .
Due to the continued changes still ongoing at the university and lack of staff and students being a big part of it ,
I find it necessary to cease operating FRIDAY 19TH DECEMBER
Myself ,Nikki and Andy would like to express our
Up most gratitude for your support and loyalty over the years .

Unfortunately for the foreseeable I will only be doing cutting services .
