Just an advanced notice that the salon will be closed from Saturday 22nd August until Monday 31st August 2026, as both Amanda and Georgia will be taking some much-needed time away to enjoy their family holidays☀️

During this time, we’ll be switching off as much as possible, so responses to messages and enquiries may be a little slower than usual.

🌿Let’s talk Acrylic Nail standards in salons…🌿

As an acrylic nail technician I hear a lot of people immediately ruling out acrylic due to it ruining their nails.

What some people don’t realise is actually the problem lies elsewhere.
There are two types of acrylic monomer (the liquid that is mixed with the powder to create acrylic nails)
MMA & EMA
Let’s talk about them…

MMA -
• Banned in most states in America for use in nails due to health risks. (Unfortunately not the same case in the UK)
• What is it used for? Dentistry (Fake teeth, fillings), Medical (Bone fusing) Adhesives & Paints (Road markings, Industrial flooring)
• When trying to soak off it has a distinct awful smell and doesn’t want to come off because it was never designed to come off! Often requiring it to be filed off.
• Not designed to be used in acrylic nails due to health risks!
• This acrylic generally involves harsh filing previous to application damaging the nail bed (often burning) to then apply an enhancement that needs no structure built.
• It forms a hard rigid enhancement, that has no flexibility that is not designed to be removed meaning it will last but if you were to hit your nails your more likely to loose your natural nail with it.
• Only sub standard salons use these products and often they are disguised by being presented in a clear bottle with no labels if you are unsure ask to see if they have nothing to hide they won’t mind you asking.

EMA -
• Designed to be used in creating acrylic nail enhancements professionally and safely.
• No need for aggressive filing
• A structure that needs to be created to ensure longevity
• Product can be filed down and soaked safely to melt and be removed from the nail plate with ease. No distinct smell when removing.
•Created to contain a degree of flexibility meaning that when hit there is more chance of it detaching than creating loss of your natural nails.

With this now being said using the correct nail acrylic and having it removed professionally does not need to cause damage to your natural nails.

🤍IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MY CLIENTS PLEASE READ🤍

As you may have noticed this past week my socials have been silent.
Those of you that visit me often are aware that a lot has gone on in my personal life.
Right now with my family we are facing some more tough times 😔, I don’t wish to go into too much detail as I’m sure you understand but a very close family member has unfortunately been in a terrible accident.
Due to this I am currently juggling mum life, my business and many trips to Bristol hospital.
I am still working and responding to messages as and when I am able to.
But please be aware that..
My phone will be on and active at all times whilst I am working, messages may take time to respond to, and that I am very sorry should I need to make any alterations at short notice but my family will always be my priority💕.
I hope that once again you will stick by me and all be as amazing as you have been in the past x

Keep your nails looking their best and your skin hydrated. Pens can be bought at your appointment or just pop in and buy one when you’re out and about. £5 each.

🌸Acrylic Colour Swatches🌸

It’s taken a while due to me being super busy of late!

Obviously for some of you this doesn’t matter as you may choose a coloured gel polish to cover your acrylic, but for those of you looking for that perfect base colour for a french tip or design here are your choices!
