Purple potato

Native of the Peruvian Sierra. Its antioxidants promote the good condition of the skin and help prevent the appearance of wrinkles.

Ungurahui

Fruit of the Peruvian Jungle that is rich in lipids, proteins and vitamins. Thanks to its omega 9 acids, it offers a great nourishing contribution to the skin, accelerating the repair of tissues.

Muña

Peruvian Andes plant that contains antioxidant and antibacterial agents. Its traditional use has proven positive effects on health.

Jojoba oil

From the Peruvian Coast. It contains vitamin E that acts as an antioxidant and protects the skin from free radicals.

Tara

Caesalpinia spinosa (Molina) Kuntze, known as a legume of arboreal or shrubby nature from Peru.

Description

Jojoba oil, mixed with Mishki cream for normal to dry skin, helps to prevent wrinkles and moisturizes dry skin. Alone, it helps to avoid the accumulation of sebum. Daily application of jojoba oil facilitates cell regeneration and increases elasticity, as well the softness and firmness of the skin. Jojoba oil has vitamin E which acts as an antioxidant and protects skin from the negative effects of the elements.

Use

Put some Mishki cream for normal to dry skin in your hand and add one or two drops of jojoba oil. Mix and apply to your face. Work it in gently, using your fingertips in an upward circular motion for a firming effect. After each use, store the oil away from sunlight and high temperatures.

Jojoba

Jojoba is a plant that lives 100 years on average and can grow 15 feet high. The fruit of the jojoba plant has a 2 to 4 cm long seed from which the oil is extracted. The plants we use are organically cultivated in Ica by independent indigenous farming cooperatives.

Cleansing lotion
Containing an extract of a native potato from the Peruvian Highlands

Description
Cleansing lotion with active antioxidants made from a purple potato – the Solanum tuberosum species from the Peruvian Highlands. It is a refreshing lotion which cleans gently without leaving an oily film, while giving a smooth feel.

Use
Put the lotion on a piece of cotton or on your hand and gently work it into your face, using the fingertips in an upward circular motion for a firming effect. Be sure to remove all of the product from your face with water and dry your skin gently. After each use, store the cleansing lotion away from sunlight and high temperatures.

Potato
The potato used is unique to the Peruvian Highlands and grows at 11,500 feet elevation. It's organically cultivated using independent indigenous farming cooperatives.

The objective of Yana Cosmetics is not only to develop cosmetic products based on plants native to Peru but also to improve the quality of the lives of the families that cultivate them, as a means of safeguarding and preserving the biodiversity and the environment.

Yana Cosmetics originated in December of 2004 in Huancayo (Peru), during a workshop on the Solanum tuberosum species. Inspired by the biodiversity and the potential for the development of the species, the idea of formulating and developing facial creams based on organic products native to Peru emerged.

The consolidation of this idea came about with an alliance of communities and farmers in the center of the country, with whom the means of supplying raw materials has been established. The Pharmacy and Biochemistry Department of San Marcos University (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos) and La Molina Agrarian University (Universidad Agraria La Molina) have collaborated on scientific research.

Yana Cosmetics has a brand name, Mishki, inspired by a word in Quechua that means “sweet”. It is a word that has a pleasant, even poetic, sound, not only to Quechua speakers but to people in general.
