Lash health is so important to me, probably because in the past I have had poorly applied extensions which has resulted in my natural lashes being harmed. When you have extensions on you should never be in pain or feel uncomfortable. If this is the case then your extensions have probably been poorly applied. Don't get me wrong I'm not claiming to be an expert however I have been lashing for eight years and I do have some experience. I follow great lash educators for example and I encourage you to do the same. Do your research. If you are having a full set of eyelash extensions applied in one hour or less then your lashes are going to be damaged. That's a fact. Again, do your research. Infills generally take 50 minutes to 1 hour and a half to ensure proper healthy application. Your eyes should never feel irritated to the extent that they are really bothering you. Don't get me wrong, sometimes a rogue lash can become stuck to the one next to it due to factors such as the humidity being too high or the temperature being too high which means my glue cures faster or simply because I'm only human and sometimes get it wrong. This should never be a consistent problem and should only happen occasionally if at all. If you are getting your extensions done and regularly feel they are irritating or hurting you then they are probably being poorly applied and your lashes are being damaged, sometimes beyond repair. I have had some clients come to me and their natural lashes are not in a good way through no fault of their own or anyone else and they probably are not a good candidate for eyelash extensions however I have applied a light set and only applied what their natural lashes could handle. I have even told some of my clients to take a break, taking my life in my hands, and they have respected this decision, albeit grudgingly. I'm not bashing, just educating.

Cosy cosy cosy. After your initial consultation, where we discuss what you want from your extensions, what you don't want etc, I'll set you up on the lash bed. I have a step to make it easier. Blanket on. Make sure you're comfy then I'll wash your lashes, get you taped up, chill playlist on, then lie back & relax. This is YOUR time. Whether it's after work, a day off, time away from the kids, whatever it is, this is for you to relax, naps aren't compulsory but they're usually inevitable..... then wake up feeling relaxed, refreshed and looking & feeling beautiful. Leave feeling fabulous. Result x

Why not? Lashes save time in the mornings, you have the "woke up like this" look, you don't get the dreaded panda eyes or clogged mascara on your lashes. Ideal for holidays in the pool, sunbathing etc. They take you from day into night. You look awake, refreshed and glowing and rested. You can have a style that makes people question if that's your own natural lashes ( my favourite & my expertise) mid glam, or full on WOW lashes, all while maintaining lash health. So many styles to choose from, and you can switch it up at any time, changing from natural to more enhanced if you have a holiday or special occasion for example. Or .if you simply want to wake up looking & feeling good, are able to rush out the door in the mornings confident you look great.

Im glad to be coming back to work, however it shall be with a soft start. Im healing, but a lot slower than I would like, and I have a lot of nerve pain to deal with. One of the biggest misconceptions seen in this industry is extreme eye redness automatically being labelled as a “glue allergy.” When you see a client photo like this, where the whites of the eyes are very red, especially underneath and around the sclera, that is often conjunctival irritation, not an allergy.

The conjunctiva is the thin, transparent membrane that covers the white of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids. When it becomes inflamed, it causes bright redness in the whites of the eyes, watering, burning or stinging, light sensitivity and that “raw” irritated look. This is called conjunctival inflammation.

It’s not always a glue allergy, it’s more about pre-existing vulnerability. Many clients may already have a mild dry eye (very common, affects a huge % of adults). Compromised tear film, screen fatigue, seasonal irritation or hormonal fluctuations

The reason why this is this different from a lash allergy is because a true adhesive allergy is an immune response that usually presents as symptoms such as swollen eyelids, itching, puffy upper and lower lids and a delayed reaction (often 24–48 hours later). That is very different. So not every red eye is an allergy and not every reaction is caused by the adhesive alone.

As lash artists, we are not doctors, but we do have a duty of care to understand contractions such as these and how to best advise our clients, and very few of us, myself included were ever taught this is our trainings.

If you’ve seen extreme redness and assumed allergy, this might change how you assess it going forward.

It’s gone!! 👌I’m absolutely delighted!! I am feeling quite good and my wounds are healing reasonably well. I have a lot of nerve pain that I’m trying to deal with 😬 it’s actually driving me insane. I’ve still got a wee bit to go healing wise, because, as usual, just because it’s me, there’s some slight complications 🫤But I hope to be back working as soon as possible. I will keep you updated 🙂 I can’t thank you enough, those that have sent me messages letting me know you’re thinking of me & asking how I am, those who have popped by for a cuppa or brought me up food/ snacks (I’m happy for that to keep up even when I’m back working 😂) It’s appreciated more than you know and I have honestly been blown away by the show of Love & support. Always ask what glue your lash tech uses and if it’s EU regulated.
Cheap products usually mean that a lash tech will charge cheap prices for extensions.
I use cosmetic grade glue so I pay more for it. This is reflected in my prices.
Personally, I refuse to use what I wouldn’t put near my own eyes.

I just wanted to update as I’ve been receiving so many messages asking how I am and sending me love. I am honestly so overwhelmed with everyone’s well wishes. Considering I’m such a torn faced witch I am feeling incredibly loved 🥰 surgery went great, they’re happy with the b***s (I can’t see them as I’m all bandaged up 🫤). My incredible surgeon even managed to remove my lymph nodes a different way than the usual so that she didn’t have to make an incision in my armpit, so that I can hopefully heal quicker for work. She knew how worried I was about taking so much time off. I am so grateful to her for that ❤️ My boys are doing everything and I am being spoiled and looked after very well. Your visits, messages of support, well wishes and even just the memes sent back & forth etc mean so much, I genuinely do feel loved and I thank every single one of you for supporting me. I’m going to enjoy the next few weeks of recuperation because the Six Nations Rugby is on 😂. Radiotherapy is looking likely but I shall find out on 24th. Anyway, thanks to you all again. I will miss you and look forward to the chat when I return. ❤️❤️

I can’t thank everyone enough, all your lovely messages have helped me get through the last few weeks. Thursday is the day 😬 Part of me can’t wait for it to be over, the other part is dreading it. The procedure is more complex now, they are removing lymph nodes etc so recovery is probably going to take more time. Whilst this is not ideal, for both yourselves and myself (financially it’s a nightmare for me as I’m self employed & don’t get sick pay 😕) I have to take the time I need to recover. I will definitely keep everyone updated as to how I am and when I expect to return to work. Please don’t think you’re cheating if you wish to go elsewhere for your lashes 😁 Just please comeback to me I finish up Wednesday afternoon and replies to messages after that might be slightly delayed. Most of my clients are aware I was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas. My surgery date is February 5th, which is quick, and while I’m delighted, I’m aware it messes up everyone’s appointments 😩 If you are booked in for the following week I can get you in the few days before I go in. I should be off for a minimum 4 weeks to recover, so please bear with me to reschedule etc. I have a fabulous lash artist I can recommend for infills, or full sets, while I’m not working. Just let her know you’re my client and she has promised to try to accommodate as best as she can. Any questions just message me and I shall get back to you asap.
