The barber SHED

At our barbershop, children's safety and wellbeing will always come first. We understand that haircuts can sometimes feel overwhelming for little ones, and every child responds differently.

A few tears or nerves are completely normal, but if a child becomes extremely distressed, upset, or unable to sit safely, our priority is never "just getting the haircut done" — it's keeping them safe and ensuring the experience remains as positive as possible.

Sharp tools and sudden movements don't mix, and no haircut is more important than a child's comfort and wellbeing. Sometimes the kindest and safest option is to simply try again another day.

Forcibly restraining a toddler during a haircut is widely discouraged by pediatric experts and stylists. Pinning them down often increases their terror and can turn a temporary fear into a long-lasting phobia.

Safer approaches people commonly use include:

A parent holding the child on their lap (without harsh restraint)
Taking breaks to help the child recover.
Distraction (toys, videos, songs)
Doing part of the haircut and finishing another day
Rescheduling when the child is calmer.

We pride ourselves on creating a space where hair meets community, and that includes showing patience, understanding and care to every child who sits in our chairs. ❤️

Having to repost 🙄🤨

Sadly we are still experiencing some no shows. :(
We know that life is busy sometimes and things come up. We have always been very understanding and are happy to reschedule any appointment at short notice.
However when no attempt has been made to contact us and clients simply don't show up, this has a huge effect on our business and impacts our barbers directly.

If you ever get confused about who's who in the shop, here's a recap if you get confused.

Jodi is the tall one with white blonde bobbed hair known for having a fair bit of chat.

Jo.B. is the shorter one with long brown hair often seen with a Costa in hand.

Joanne is the shop owner midway between the two with a mix of brown and blonde hair with a terrible singing voice.
