Nobody taught you this about lowlight placement…

Lowlights don’t go in the face frame. Not if your client wants to stay bright ☀️

Brightness on the exterior. Depth on the interior. The face stays light, the back gets dimension and the whole thing looks expensive instead of dulllll.

Same technique. Completely different result. Just from where you put it.

If you find lived-in colour overwhelming, stick around for all the advice I wish someone gave me sooner 👀

If the hair is hanging on for dear life, it’s coming off 🙅‍♀️

Not to be brutal. Because damaged ends will cost you the result.

Here’s why:

• Split and broken ends absorb product unevenly — so your colour lifts patchy before you’ve even started.
• They hold toner differently to the rest of the hair, so your tone never looks consistent.
• They break off during the appointment anyway, just in the worst possible place at the worst possible time.

A trim before colour isn’t extra. It’s the difference between a result you’re proud of and one you’re having to explain.

The hair will always tell you what it needs 🤫

Save this for the client who hasn’t had a trim since 2022 👀

If you’re wanting impact, go wider with your weaves.

If you want a brighter blonde, add gold to your formula.

Using O&M UKI Cor 10.16 (my cooler tone to balance the brass) and 9.03 (a hint of gold to elevate the blonde)

I chose a cream demi over liquid as I wanted more colour payoff and better longevity.

(Liquids are beautiful for a softer result but we needed a bit more oomph here 👌🏽😏)

By the end of 2025, so many of us were exhausted.
Burnt out. Heavy. Running on empty.

I spent a lot of last year quietly reframing what success actually meant to me — and realising I’d picked up some pretty toxic work habits along the way.
