The cleanest, most even lift ✨

Today’s challenge: lifting a very dark natural root, along with a noticeable band from previous at-home colouring, to achieve a seamless creamy blonde from root to tip.

Give me a challenge and I’m there 💪

✨ Step 1: We lifted the virgin root area using L’Oréal Studio Blonde.

✨ Step 2: Once we achieved enough lift at the root, we moved onto the mid-lengths where previous colour banding needed correcting. A lower-level formula was used to carefully even out the tone without over-processing.

✨ Step 3: A post-service treatment was applied before toning to restore softness, reduce porosity, and ensure the hair wouldn’t grab toner unevenly.

Double toning was essential for this transformation:

✨ Toner 1: Created an even canvas from root to tip while neutralising unwanted warmth and orange tones at the root.

✨ Toner 2: This is where the magic happens, allowing the final shade to develop beautifully and reveal the true tone.

Formula:
• 9/8 KP + 1.9%
• 9/03, 7/86, 8/81 + 1.9%

The ends were left out as they were already the perfect tone and didn’t need flattening.

Finished with K18 to maintain strength, shine, and overall hair health ✨

Styled using the GHD Rise for a soft 60’s-inspired flick.

This client was feeling an all over colour was too ageing, so we applied some fine foils and carefully watched them with a low developer alongside k18 to maintain the health within the hair.

Managed to come away from a dense Matt coverage for the grey root area to a lighter gloss that blends into the blonde ✨

Next step is a keratin blowdry to help smooth the hair out, as this client has a serious amount of hair that doesn’t deal well in humid weathers and could do with some help with the frizz.

She was over the moon with the multi tonal look and easier grow out for a softer look on the skin tone.
