Where do I even start with this one—and more importantly, who cares? I do. This is my space, and I get to share what I want.

Last year was incredibly busy. By the time it ended, I felt anxious and not quite myself, like I’d stalled in ways I hadn’t expected. I wrapped up the year feeling like half the person I know I can be. As many of you saw, I took a holiday of a lifetime. It was more than just a break—it was time to breathe, reflect, and reset.

If I’m being completely honest, somewhere along the way I became a bit of a “yes” person in the salon. That can easily slip into complacency—not from laziness, but from nerves. I think I was scared to really lean into my creative flair, worried that maybe I’d lost a little of it. So instead, I focused on tightening up what I already knew. I looked at education programs, refined my skills, and made use of the tools I had. And while that’s all valuable, it wasn’t giving me the fulfilment or motivation I was needing.

I love the salon. I’m so grateful to every person who chooses me as their stylist, and even more grateful for the clients who have become true friends. That will always mean everything to me.

For years I’ve said, “I don’t want to become an old hairdresser.” Not in age, but in mindset. I never want to feel stuck or stale. And I think that fear has sometimes stopped me—not from taking opportunities, but from creating them for myself.

So, moving forward, I’ve reduced my hours. Partly to spend more time with my family and to slow down a little, but also to make space. Space to push myself creatively. Space to use my skills in ways that excite me again. I want to explore more creative styling, to step outside of my comfort zone.

We’re lucky to be in an industry filled with incredible educators and accessible “look and learn” classes online. I’ll always continue growing and developing where I need to—but now I want to take it further. I want to move more boldly into creative styling, even if that means putting myself out there, asking to assist, volunteering my time, or working behind a different chair than David Sebastian’s.

It’s time to stop waiting and start creating the opportunities I’ve been craving.

With this mindset this is what i feel will make me a better stylist, colourist and generally a greater hairstylist
To use the tools available to me and lots I already have

I commit to being more honest in my opinions and expanding my creative thinking to help clients become the individuals they aspire to be. I will embark on this journey alongside them, embracing all the possibilities I have previously shied away from.

Force to be reckoned with
happy new year

31/12/2025

From 1st March, I’ll be in the salon Wednesday–Saturday only.

Our Jan turns 76 this year, and while there’s still plenty of life in our old dog, it’s made me realise just how precious time really is. I want to create more space to be with her and my family, and to relieve her from everything she does for the salon.

Please book early, as these will be the only days I’m in 🤍
