We have some important news to share with you all.

After 43 years with KH Hair, our amazing receptionist, Jo Scott is retiring. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank her for all her hard work, loyalty and commitment to our KH Hair family and wish her a happy and healthy retirement.

After much consideration, we have decided this would be an ideal time to announce that we are going to bring our two Derby salons together under one roof.

As from Tuesday 9th April 2024, we are no longer trading at 1 St Peters Way, Derbion Centre in Derby, but instead the team are located at our salon at 48 Sadler Gate, Derby DE1 3NQ.

THICKEN THOSE LOCKS

If your limp, fine hair is driving you to distraction, KH Hair Creative Team member, Martin Quenault, has some great tips on how to achieve thicker-looking, luscious locks.

For thicker looking hair, use products such as Nioxin or Wella Care and Style Volume Boost when shampooing and conditioning. These products will give a great base to start from.

Styling wise, apply plenty of mousse. I’d recommend Nioxin Volume Mousse or Natural Volume from the Wella EIMI range. Nioxin thickening gel and thickening spray work well too. Blow dry with a big round brush to give plenty of lift and movement.

Velcro rollers are a great way to get volume. Spray sections with Sebastian Re-Shaper Hairspray before you put each roller in to help give it hold. Leave the rollers in for 10 minutes then take out and lightly brush through with a bristle brush.

Another option is to go old school and sleep in heated rollers or soft rollers, so you wake up with lots of lovely volume.

Giving a good blow dry and finish is key to keeping that volume in. You could always book an appointment with your stylist for a blow dry to help you with this and they can give you a run through and some tips on how to achieve the finished look yourself.
