Yes, Luke Littler is good at darts. Very good.

But he might face a new challenger soon in the shape of a 15-year-old boy from Derby, who his father says "belongs on the stage" 🎯

Alfie Moore, from Alvaston, started playing darts with his father in the Needles pub just over two years ago, and has quickly worked his way up to the top of his league.

"He used to come to watch me play and ask if he could have a go, and after a while, I put a darts board up at home," his father Dean said.

"He put plenty in the wall, but, all of a sudden, they started getting closer together."

Alfie continued to improve and, in late 2024, joined Jamie Caven Darts Academy in Derby, who then signed him up to the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) Q School, which is a route for young players to get their tour cards.

Despite being unsuccessful the first time, he did not give up and joined the JDC Foundation Tour, where he began to pick up points before joining the Prince of Wales pub team in Ilkeston.

Alfie now plays for Derbyshire Darts and is sponsored by various companies, such as Unicorn Darts, after winning local competitions.

He went on to secure his tour card, a two-year professional licence allowing a selection of top darts players to compete in a number of professional events, after returning to the Q School this month.

The points he collected also qualified him for the Junior World Darts Championship, which is held in Gibraltar in November 2026.

"He has wanted this since he has been able to compete, and when he played at the Q School, he was a totally different person," his father said.

"It was almost like he knew something big was going to happen. He was zoned in from start to finish."

He added that Alfie was happiest on the stage, saying: "You can tell that's where he wants to be.

"At his first game for Derbyshire County, he just looked so happy. It looked like it's where he belongs.

"A lot of people tell him he's the next Luke Littler, but he always replies that he'd rather be the first Alfie than the second Luke Littler.

"He's very humble about it, and I am so incredibly proud of him. He sets a great example to kids his age.

"He just shows that anything is possible if you want it. When he goes up there, it doesn't matter who he's playing, it's just him and the darts board."
