August feels different this year. The landscape is a little drier, the days a little hotter, and many of us are hoping for rain.
It’s a gentle reminder that every season asks something different of us. Sometimes it’s to grow, sometimes it’s to rest, and sometimes it’s simply to slow down and care for ourselves.
Wishing you a month filled with moments of calm, kindness, and a little space to pause, whatever August brings.
Sometimes the things we apologise for say more about the pressure we put on ourselves than they do about reality.
I've lost count of the number of times a client has apologised before I've even started their treatment. Hairy legs. Hard skin. A hot flush. Chipped nail polish. Roots showing. Looking tired. Running late because life got in the way. And every single time, my response is the same: you don't need to apologise.
My treatment room isn't a place of judgement. It's a place where you can arrive exactly as you are. No pressure to be "perfect". No need to explain yourself. No embarrassment.
If this reel reminds even one woman that she doesn't need to apologise for simply being human, then it's worth saying.
I'd love to know... what's something you've apologised for that, looking back, you really didn't need to? 🤍

A little thought I've been sitting with this week. When someone compliments my garden, my instinct is to point out the weeds, the spent flowers, the dry lawn, and the jobs still left to do.
It's funny how often we do the same thing to ourselves. Someone says something kind and we rush to explain why they're wrong.
Why our skin isn't that good.
Why our hair isn't behaving.
Why we look tired.
Why we don't feel confident.
Why we're not quite where we'd like to be.
As if the existence of imperfections somehow cancels out everything that's lovely.
My garden isn't perfect.
Neither am I.
But perhaps both can still be appreciated exactly as they are.
So here's a challenge for the weekend ahead...
If someone gives you a compliment, resist the urge to argue with it.
Just say "Thank you".
This just doesn’t sit right with me. I'd love to know what you think.
When was the last time someone did this for you?
Do you fall asleep during a facial? It's a great sign if you do.
Your experience doesn't start when you sit in the chair or lie on the bed... It starts before you arrive.
One of the things my clients tell me they love isn't just the treatment itself. It's how they feel before it even begins.
No traffic queues. No circling for parking. No rushing from one thing to the next.
Just a quiet drive into the village, plenty of space to park, a walk through the garden, and a chance to switch off for a moment before settling into the treatment room.
Sometimes those few minutes of calm make all the difference.
Have you visited my little hideaway yet?

In a world that celebrates being busy, choosing rest can feel surprisingly difficult.
This is your reminder that you don't have to earn a slower moment.
A cup of tea. A chapter of a good book. A quiet walk. An early night. A few minutes with your thoughts.
Whatever nourishment looks like for you today, I hope you allow yourself a little more of it.
Wishing you a gentle Sunday. 🤍
