I am rebranding from Fauna & Flora Illustrations to the 'Barking Bear' which fits me and my art business a lot more than the prior branding. It has ties to my kennel, to my dogs, to my childhood home and means that I can branch out from my pet portraits into offering other forms of artwork as well as my illustrations.

I hope you'll all continue to support and enjoy the future art I share. I'll still be doing the pet portraits and illustrations, but I will be offering other art as well.

Meet Storm 💛 A beautiful Smooth Collie, and the well-deserved winner of the East Anglian Collie Club's Collie of the Year, Puppy Award.

I was delighted to donate three portrait prizes for this special event, and this portrait marks the final one completed. Storm was an absolute joy to draw, with her elegant features, intelligent expression, and that wonderfully sleek Smooth Collie coat.

This piece was created using pastel pencils on Clairfontaine Pastelmat, a surface that allows for incredible detail, softness, and depth, perfect for capturing every strand of fur and Storm's gentle character.

Smooth Collies are such a special breed. As one of the UK's vulnerable native breeds, they deserve to be celebrated, preserved, and seen more often. Their loyal nature, versatility, and unmistakable elegance make them truly unforgettable companions.

It has been an honour to create this portrait and support such a wonderful breed club. Congratulations again to Storm and her owners.
