Can a Lash Lift Help with Trichiasis?

For many people, a lash lift is simply a beauty treatment designed to enhance the appearance of the natural lashes.

However, in some cases, it may also provide relief from the symptoms of mild trichiasis by helping redirect lashes away from the eye surface.

What is Trichiasis?

Trichiasis is a condition where the eyelashes grow inwards towards the eye instead of away from it. As the lashes rub against the surface of the eye, they can cause:

* Irritation and discomfort
* A gritty or foreign body sensation
* Excessive watering
* Redness
* Light sensitivity
* Recurrent eye infections
* Damage to the cornea if left untreated

Trichiasis can occur due to ageing changes, inflammation, previous infections, trauma, or conditions affecting the eyelids.

How Can a Lash Lift Help?

A lash lift works by reshaping and redirecting the natural lashes into a more upward position.

For some individuals with mild trichiasis or age-related changes in lash direction, lifting the lashes can:

* Move lashes away from the surface of the eye
* Reduce friction against the cornea and conjunctiva
* Improve comfort
* Decrease watering and irritation
* Provide a non-invasive alternative before considering more permanent options

The images above show a client whose lashes were naturally directing towards the eye.

Following a lash lift, the lashes were repositioned into a more elevated direction, helping to reduce contact with the eye surface.

Important Considerations

A lash lift is not a cure for trichiasis.

It does not change where the lash grows from the follicle, nor does it treat underlying eyelid conditions. Results are temporary and typically last 6–8 weeks before maintenance is required.

A lash lift may be suitable when:

✔ The lashes are healthy enough to undergo treatment
✔ The inward direction is mild to moderate
✔ There is no active eye infection or inflammation
✔ The client understands the treatment is symptom management rather than a medical cure.

Keratosis Pilaris in Melanin-Rich Skin ✨

This client presented with rough texture, follicular plugging and post-inflammatory pigmentation on the upper arm — very typical of Keratosis Pilaris (KP), often called “chicken skin.”

In Fitzpatrick VI skin, KP doesn’t always appear red.
Instead, it can show as:
• darker follicles
• uneven pigmentation
• rough texture
• dry, bumpy skin

For this treatment, I used an eKseption resurfacing peel chosen carefully for melanin-rich skin to help:
✔️ soften keratin build-up
✔️ improve texture
✔️ support gentle exfoliation
✔️ brighten post-inflammatory pigmentation
✔️ smooth the appearance of the skin without aggressive trauma

With deeper skin tones, the goal is always to work with the skin, not against it.

Aggressive treatments can trigger more pigmentation, so a controlled, progressive approach is key 🔑

This is not an overnight fix.
Consistency, barrier support and the correct homecare make all the difference.

Remember:
✨ Not all bumps are acne
✨ Not all pigmentation is “damage”
✨ Melanin-rich skin needs specialised treatment planning

If your skin feels rough, uneven or “spotty” on the arms, you are not alone — and you do not need to scrub your skin raw to improve it!!!!

Before & After Wart Removal with Advanced Cosmetic Procedures

Warts are caused by a viral infection in the skin (HPV)

They can appear anywhere on the body but mostly on the fingers, hands or feet, and they often feel rough, raised and stubborn.

In this case, the wart was treated using Advanced Electrolysis (ACP) following consultation and assessment.

Immediately after treatment, you can see redness and inflammation. This is completely normal.

Here’s what’s important 👇

Advanced electrolysis doesn’t just remove visible tissue.

The treatment creates a controlled thermal response in the area.

This triggers the body’s natural healing process and stimulates the immune system.

When the immune system is activated, it recognises the viral cells and works to:

• Attack the HPV virus
• Clear infected tissue
• Support regeneration of healthy skin

That inflammatory response you see is part of the body stepping in to do its job.

Over the following days:
• Swelling settles
• A crust forms
• The treated tissue sheds
• New healthy skin forms underneath

Some warts may require more than one session depending on size, depth and how long they’ve been present.

As always, not every lesion is suitable for cosmetic treatment - assessment is essential before proceeding.

Recent SPMU Brows

Take back your mornings with semi-permanent brows - a treatment that includes everything you need to have gorgeous and precise brows that last.

Unlike a tattoo, SPMU involves lightly implanting pigment (colour) into the top layer of skin.

We can offer a blended treatment where we combine powder brows (via my SPMU machine) and microblading. This is especially beneficial for clients with sparse/no hair.

You will have 3 appointments:

Appointment 1: Consultation: We will discuss your concerns and get to know each other - I believe this is important so that you can make an informed decision. We will choose a bespoke blended colour that matches your hair & skin. We will also patch test you at this time to make sure you have no allergies to any of the products we will use. Brows are also waxed so the area is nice and clean and ready for the SPMU.

Appointment 2: I will apply topical anaesthetic to the area to numb it. Using sterile disposable needles & your chosen pigment (colour), we will replicate your natural brows.

Appointment 3: Your brows will naturally fade from appointment 2 (due to the skin cell renewal), so this is a review 6-8 weeks after. We review your brows, tweak anything you don't like and add a touch-up to bring a deeper colour to the area.

To book your SPMU session, please click the booking button on the website or WhatsApp us on 07355 038276.
