A little piece of Korea at NuMi 🇰🇷

When we booked the flights for my middle son to come home for a holiday from South Korea, I asked him to bring me back “a little Korean something” for the NuMi treatment room.

He actually put far more thought into it than I expected. He said he wanted to find something traditionally Korean and, in his words, “not tourist tat.” 😂

This is what he chose. ❤️

A pair of traditional Korean wedding ducks.

Traditionally given to newlyweds, wedding ducks symbolise love, loyalty, harmony and a lasting partnership, as ducks mate for life. The Korean silk pouches hanging from their necks represent virtues such as patience and listening, while the coins displayed alongside them add another wish — for prosperity and financial stability.

So together, they’re a lovely wee collection of well wishes.

The Korean influence behind NuMi has always been personal. It didn’t come from the K-beauty trend; it grew through my son living in South Korea, the things he introduced me to and, eventually, my own fascination with Korean skincare and beauty rituals.

So these aren’t just pretty decorations. They’re a little piece of Korea, made even more special because my son chose them for me. 🤎

They’ve also moved around the treatment room approximately 47 times while I’ve tried to find their perfect spot… but I think they’ve finally found their home. 😂
