I love my job because it brings me joy to help people keep their feet healthy, well-groomed, and beautiful.

Cracked and thickened skin on the heels is not only an aesthetic issue, but it can also cause discomfort and pain. Regular care and cleaning help remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin softer and healthier. Deep cracks can easily become inflamed, so proper hydration and continuous maintenance are very important. Well-cared-for heels are not only more attractive, but they also make everyday walking more comfortable.

As we age, it is common for toenails to become thicker and more difficult to trim and care for properly. Regular professional foot care becomes especially important during this time, as thickened nails can cause discomfort and, without proper cleaning, may create an environment where bacteria and fungi can thrive.

During the treatment, it is important to carefully thin the thickened nails and remove the crumbly debris underneath them, as this layer can easily become a breeding ground for pathogens. All of this is carried out using modern, pain-free mechanical techniques, providing a gentle yet effective solution for caring for problematic nails.

One of my new clients felt a little self-conscious today because of the size of her toenails. Unfortunately, she had to undergo surgery for ingrown toenails as a teenager, which resulted in a smaller nail surface.

In my opinion, the shape or size of our nails is not what matters most, but rather that they are healthy and well cared for. Well-groomed feet and nails matter far more than striving for any kind of perfection.

Our feet carry us every single day — they deserve care and attention. đŸ’•đŸŠ¶đŸŠ¶đŸ’•

My client first came to me last winter with a sports injury that had led to a fungal nail infection. By the time summer arrived, her nails had fully recovered, so we were finally able to start the season with a gel polish on her natural nails – you might remember this from a previous post. She was over the moon, but unfortunately, by the end of summer, the nails got damaged again due to her intense training. I had to remove the lifted nail parts once more.

And of course, according to Murphy’s law, we always seem to injure the exact body part that’s already sensitive. That’s exactly what happened here: a heavy object fell on her foot. Since I was away on holiday at the time, I could only treat her a little later. The brownish discoloration you can see on the nail is from the impact and the bleeding underneath (and that sparkly purple shade is just leftover polish).

In the second picture, you can see the nail after I removed the damaged, lifted parts as much as possible. The third picture shows the nail reconstruction process, and the fourth shows the finished result. I only applied a clear top gel so it would stay transparent.

We agreed that for now, she’ll only use regular nail polish, removing it weekly so we can monitor any changes. I’ll see her again in 4 weeks – but until then, she’s off to enjoy a lovely vacation with her family. 🌾
