🩷Update🩷

As most of you will know, I’ve been suffering with my foot for over 18 months now. After numerous appointments, treatments and injections, I saw a consultant today who advised me my foot is badly damaged and that I will need surgery. 😣 I’ve also be been advised that I need to reduce the amount of time I spend on my foot, particularly standing for long periods at work - to give myself the best chance of maintaining a good quality of life outside of work.

If I’m honest, I always knew there was a possibility this would eventually catch up with me. After 24 years in this industry, spending long hours on my feet in the salon, my body has inevitably started to feel the effects after ignoring warning signs for so long. 🤦🏼‍♀️ This injury is very much something that has developed as a result of the demands of the job I’ve loved and dedicated so much of my life to. I now need to listen to what my body is telling me..

I’ll be having another injection in the meantime to put me on while I wait for an MRI ahead of pre-planned foot surgery, which is likely to take place later this year/early next.

Until then, I need to take my health seriously and do what’s necessary to avoid causing myself any more pain than I’m already experiencing. As a result, I won’t be working past 6pm.

Please bear this in mind and book ahead where necessary. I’m genuinely sorry if this causes any inconvenience, but at this point I have to take the steps that are best for me moving forward.

It’s not an easy decision after so many years of working the way I have but I’m determined to look after myself now.
