There’s a common misconception in PMU that melanated skin can’t have hyperrealism / hairstroke brows… and that simply isn’t true.

What is true, however, is that melanated skin and textured brow hair require a more strategic approach, more experience and more patience.

Many melanin-rich clients naturally have brow hair that grows more textured, curly or coarse, particularly throughout the tail of the brow. And when we’re creating natural results we have to follow the natural growth pattern. Can you see where this then may get a little challenging?

For me, that’s where the artistry comes in 🎨

My approach is always to create soft, natural hairstrokes throughout the brow where possible, whilst keeping the healed result realistic, seamless and wearable long term.
And because every brow heals differently, all of my brow appointments include a complimentary touch-up appointment 💫

What does that mean?

It means that if we decide the transition throughout the tail would benefit from a little extra softness once healed, we can strategically blend the area using a soft shading technique to create a more defined and seamless result during your touch-up appointment.

In short — yes, textured and coarse brow hair does come with more limitations when creating realism brows. But at Celestial PMU, you’ll always be assessed as an individual, with honest advice and an approach tailored specifically to you 🤎

So if you’re a melanin-rich girlie who’s previously been told you’re ‘not the right candidate’ for hairstroke brows… don’t write the idea off completely just yet!

Why Realism Is My Preferred Method.

Blades cause more trauma to the skin, resulting in the need for collagen to reconstruct within the skin. During reconstruction, it’s common for the pigment within the skin to blur and expand.
Using a cartridge allows us to gently implant pigment into the skin via microscopic puncture holes.

Less trauma, more precision, no migration.

How Do They Look So Real?

Natural brows overlaps, have curves and multi-dimensional layers. Due to the use of a cartridge, we are able to replicate this natural growth creating a hyperrealistic effect.
