11 years since I opened the doors to Claire Whitfield Beauty in Askern.

And this anniversary feels a little different, because it will be the last one I celebrate in this particular space.

Looking back over those 11 years, I feel incredibly grateful. For all the memories, the laughter, the friendships, the growth and, most of all, the wonderful clients who have supported me and become such a special part of the journey.

There is so much to look back on, but also so much to look forward to as I transition into this next chapter and everything continues to evolve under Bohemia | Sound Baths & Wellbeing

And somehow it feels quite fitting that this transition comes after 13 years in business and 11 years in the salon, two numbers that have always felt very special to me.

Sometimes the timing of things just feels right.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of these 11 years, whether you’ve been with me from the very beginning or joined me somewhere along the way 🙏🏻

After 13 years, it’s time for a new chapter 🤍

This is probably one of the hardest posts I’ve had to write, because Claire Whitfield Beauty has been such a huge part of my life for such a long time.

I started the business 13 years ago, working mobile for the first two years before moving into the salon in Askern, where I’ve now spent the last 11 years.

And what an 11 years it has been!

That salon has been so much more than just somewhere I worked from. It’s been a huge part of my life, my growth, my confidence and my journey as both a person and a business owner.

Long before I ever had the salon, I had already pictured myself in that space. It was something I had manifested and envisaged years before it actually became mine, which is probably why it has always felt so incredibly special to me.

It also feels strangely significant that this chapter has lasted 13 years. Thirteen was always a special number connected to my Nanna, and I’ve always felt such a strong sense of support and protection around that salon. From the very first time I stepped into the premises, it felt special somehow, and that feeling has never really left me.

Through challenging times, changes in the financial climate and, of course, COVID, that little salon somehow always felt protected. We came through COVID and bounced back stronger than ever, and I’ve always felt incredibly grateful for that.

It has held so many memories, so many conversations, so many laughs, tears and life changes. I’ve met the most amazing people there, and some of you have been with me for years and years. I’ve been lucky enough to share so many different chapters of life with you along the way.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been speaking individually to lots of clients about the changes that are coming, but with around a month to go, it feels like the right time to finally share it properly.

With the landlord selling the salon premises, and after a considerable amount of time thinking, deliberating, going backwards and forwards and really sitting with what I want my future to look like, I’ve decided this is the right moment to step into something new.

Next month, I’ll be leaving the salon in Askern and moving into a completely new treatment space at KAHA Studios, based at The Ranch on Grove Road in Womersley.

It’s such a beautiful location, with the farm shop and café just opposite, and such a peaceful, calm energy around it. Every time I’m there, it just feels right. It’s completely different, but in the best possible way.

The new treatment space will be Bohemia.

John will also be moving his sports massage business into the new space, so it really will be a fresh new chapter for us both.

A completely fresh environment, fully kitted out from scratch, with a different energy, a different feel and a vision that feels much more aligned with where I am now and where I want to go next.

As part of this next chapter, Claire Whitfield Beauty will also come to an end as a name. Moving forward, everything I offer will sit together under the Bohemia umbrella.

Treatments, healing, sound work, events and everything else that continues to grow from here will all become part of Bohemia.

One of the biggest decisions I’ve made is to step away from the nail side of the business.

This is absolutely not something I’ve taken lightly. It’s something I’ve deliberated over for a considerable number of months, because nails have been such a big part of what I’ve done for so many years.

But I know in my heart that it no longer fits the vision for where I’m going, and it feels like the right time to let that part of the business go.

I’ll still be offering facials, massage, waxing for existing clients, LVL lash lifts, lash and brow tinting, brow waxing, as well as Reiki, crystal healing and one-to-one sound healing.

And this next chapter is about so much more than simply moving premises.

I have plans to continue training, introduce new treatments and develop Bohemia even further, with everything I bring in carefully chosen because it genuinely aligns with the way I want people to feel when they come into the space.

My vision is to create more bespoke wellness experiences, where treatments can be blended and tailored around the individual, rather than everything having to fit neatly into one box.

I want Bohemia to become a space where you can come in, switch off and have an experience that feels truly personal to you.

So yes, it’s a big change.

It’s emotional.

It feels scary.

But more than anything, it feels exciting.

Sometimes the changes that challenge us the most are the ones we need the most too. It isn’t always easy to let go of something familiar, especially when it has been such a huge part of your life, but I really believe there comes a point where you have to listen when things no longer feel like they’re flowing as they should.

To take the chance, to grow, to choose what feels right, to be more authentically you.

For me, this next chapter is about exactly that, being more me, creating in a way that feels aligned, and trusting where the journey is taking me.

This is a new adventure, a new journey and a completely new chapter.

Claire Whitfield Beauty and that little salon will always hold such an incredibly special place in my heart. I’ll never forget what that chapter gave me, the people it brought into my life and how much it helped me grow, both personally and professionally.

To every single person who has supported me over the last 13 years, whether you booked an appointment, recommended me, followed along, shared a laugh, shared a tear or simply became part of the journey, thank you.

I genuinely wouldn’t have had the journey I’ve had without you.

I really hope you’ll come with me into this next chapter too.
