Petition: Review NHS lipoedema care

We ask the Government review the NHS approach to diagnosis, referral and treatment of lipoedema. This should include GP training, access to conservative treatments, and clear pathways to specialist care.

Celebrating Mr Glynns birthday yesterday Managed to walk Pumpkin amid the sharp showers and came across this herd of deer. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch Shared a perfectly cooked rib eye. Staff were friendly and the right amount of attentive. Highly recommend. ☀️ ❤️

Today was international nurses day. This feels quite poignant for me as this year I decided to let go of my nursing registration. I left school and went straight into nursing so this was quite a hard decision to make, but the truth is I don’t really hold a traditional nurses role any more. Of course I’m still a nurse at my core, with over 40 years clinical experience just no longer on the register. I continue to work clinically as a scar specialist and educator, lymph practitioner and massage therapist. How fresh faced we all look 👶

30 years ago this very day we said I do. Much like today it was rather windy and my veil caused all sorts of photographic nightmares. Sadly our official photos weren’t great. These are snaps caught by family and friends. I particularly love the blurry one of us as it is full of life and happiness and of course the one with friends where Dad crept in just in the edge of the photo, declaring he was a friend of too ♥️ Little did we know that we would lose him all too soon very shortly after. That makes the photo all the more special.

This week I have been mostly…… Decorating the clinic room in my garden. Still some decluttering to do and 2 cabinets to paint, but overall very pleased with the results so far. Off to have a much needed massage treatment this afternoon after all that hard work. 💪🏼

What a lovely way to spend a few hours in London! Met my dear friend in Victoria and because of the tube strike and the glorious weather we took a gentle stroll up to Piccadilly through Green Park. Needing refreshment, we popped into the 3’6 bar in Fortnum and Mason for very tasty non-alcoholic cocktails and nibbles, then onto Waterstones where was in conversation with discussing her debut novel People Pleaser. She revealed stories from her own life as a people pleaser and gave us a wee tasty morsel of the book so I’m diving in to it already on the train home. After years of working in London it is wonderful to return as a visitor, the pace feels somewhat slower. Here’s to more cultural day trips.

Good to be coming back from Dublin with the essentials 🤣 we had a fabulous evening, invited by the conference committee to join the evening dinner and social. In true Irish style they did not disappoint. A very lively evening with singing and dancing in a converted church. These physios really know how to enjoy themselves. It was wonderful to reconnect with many past students and to meet new friends from all around the globe. 🍀

Bluebells, Primroses, a Pumpkin and a Pepper. We are so lucky to live where we do surrounded by the most fabulous trails to walk. This selection includes Beare Green, Ockley, Holmbury Hill, Ranmore common and along the Mole river. Pumpkin got to walk with her mum pepper at the weekend ♥️ they didn’t really connect, but at least they weren’t fighting with P***y showing more promise as a water baby. This little girl makes my heart sing.
