What an incredible opportunity it was to attend the Trichollective Conference and spend time with so many inspiring, knowledgeable and passionate people.

The focus throughout the day was hair loss, hair growth, understanding causes, treatment options, when to refer, and when solutions can be offered to support individuals on their journey.

Some of the most impactful discussions centred around the experiences of people undergoing chemotherapy. We explored the challenges they face, how losing their hair can be a constant visual reminder of what their body is going through, and how we can better support them throughout treatment. We also discussed wig options, when they can be introduced, and the difference they can make to confidence and wellbeing.

There were also powerful sessions on childhood hair loss, highlighting not only the impact on the child but on the whole family. Understanding what is happening, providing reassurance, and knowing what support is available can make a huge difference during what is often a very emotional time.

The day was filled with insights from doctors, haematologists, trichologists, hairdressers and hair loss specialists, all sharing their expertise and experiences.

While I may not offer every service discussed, one of the biggest takeaways was the importance of networking and building relationships with trusted professionals. Knowing when and where to refer clients means we can help even more people access the support they need.

This is why we do what we do. We genuinely care. We continue to learn because every piece of knowledge helps us better support those who trust us during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
