We’ll swarm season is definitely underway…I’ve caught one of my hives in the very early stages of preparing to swarm! I found 6 queen cups with eggs in them and one charges developed queen cell, but not sealed. I’ve removed the cups and I’ve left the queen cell to do a split with in two days’ time. Taken me by surprise as I gave these bees an extra brood box with lots of room but it seems to have egged them on even more by producing thousands of drones!

Fingers crossed I can change their minds and put them off the idea as I really wanted to have a good honey harvest this year and if half the hive leaves my empty honey jars will probably stay that way 😂🐝

Beautiful amberglass bottles…only the best for my propolis tincture! Propolis from the beehive infused with vodka for 4 weeks then strained with cheesecloth and bottled into glass. Try having some drops a day into a hot drink, or straight on the tongue if you don’t mind the taste of vodka. 🍸
