The longer the free edge, the more leverage and pressure your nail experiences during everyday activities — which can increase the risk of cracks or breakage.

For healthy retention, I recommend keeping the free edge no longer than approximately 1× the length of your natural nail bed. 🤍

Of course, every set is different. Your natural nails, lifestyle, chosen shape and overall structure all play an important role.
