Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. 🧡

As a doula, I know that pregnancy and motherhood aren’t always filled with the happiness we see online.

Sometimes you’re exhausted. Sometimes you’re overwhelmed. Sometimes you’re struggling quietly while everyone around you thinks you’re coping.

You don’t have to reach breaking point before asking for help.

And if you’re having thoughts that scare you, please know this: you are not a bad mum, and you are not a burden. You deserve support and care.

Check in on the people you love. Ask them how they really are. Listen without judgement.

And if this post feels personal to you, please tell someone. 🧡

You matter. Your life matters. And you don’t have to go through this alone.

If you’re in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. Samaritans are available 24/7 on 116 123.

Birth plans and birth preferences are often used interchangeably, but the way we think about them can make a difference. 🤍

Birth can be unpredictable, so your preferences aren’t about controlling every outcome. They’re about understanding your options, knowing what matters to you and communicating your wishes.

And if things change? Your birth hasn’t “failed”. ❤️

Being flexible doesn’t mean giving up your voice. You still deserve to be informed, listened to and involved in every decision.

💬 Which term do you prefer: birth plan or birth preferences?

Today we remember the babies who were loved, wanted and cherished, even if their time with us was far too short 🤍

And we celebrate the rainbow babies who arrive after the storm, bringing joy, hope and a new chapter, while never replacing the baby who came before.

A rainbow does not erase the storm.
It simply reminds us that there can still be beauty after it. 🌈

To anyone remembering a baby today, whether your loss was recent or many years ago, your baby matters. Your grief matters. And your love will always matter.

And to those expecting their rainbow baby, you are allowed to feel excited, scared, hopeful and worried all at once. There is no ‘right’ way to feel.

Sending so much love to every family remembering, hoping and holding their little rainbow close. 🤍🌈

What I’ve been doing instead of posting… 👀

Honestly, sometimes Instagram gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

And whilst I haven’t been posting much, I have been learning, working my day job, planning, supporting clients, doing an unreasonable amount of admin and enjoying some proper time away from my phone.

So here’s a little peek at what’s been happening behind the scenes 🤎

I’m ready to get back into sharing more of the things I love — pregnancy, birth, feeding, postnatal support, evidence-based information and little snippets of doula life.

Thanks for still being here. 🫶🏼

Now… back to posting before I disappear again 😂

Breastfeeding myths: Part 2 🤍

If you missed Part 1, go and give it a read first!

Breastfeeding advice has changed over the years, but old myths still get passed from one generation to the next. It’s no wonder so many parents feel confused.

In Part 2, we’re talking about:
✨ Breastfeeding after a caesarean birth.
✨ Whether you need to drink milk to make milk.
✨ Why babies sometimes want to feed again soon after a feed.

Breastfeeding is about so much more than nutrition. It’s also about comfort, connection and helping your baby feel safe.

Every feeding journey is unique, and it’s okay if yours doesn’t look like someone else’s.

💛 Save this post so you can come back to it.
💛 Send it to a friend who might find it helpful.
💛 Let me know in the comments which myth you’ve heard the most.

This post is for educational purposes only. If you’re concerned about feeding your baby, speak to your midwife, health visitor or local infant feeding team.

Breastfeeding myths: Part 1 🤍

Have you ever been told that small breasts can’t make enough milk? Or that babies should only feed every 3 hours?

There are so many myths around breastfeeding, and they can make new parents doubt themselves before they’ve even begun.

The truth is that babies are individuals, breastfeeding is a learned skill, and feeding responsively is often the best place to start.

I hope this helps you feel a little more informed and a little more confident.

💛 Save this post for later.
💛 Share it with someone who’s expecting or breastfeeding.
💛 Follow along for Part 2.

Pregnancy changes so much physically, but the emotional side is often the part women carry most quietly.

The fear.
The pressure.
The endless advice.
The feeling that you should just “cope”.

You deserve support that helps you feel calm, informed and genuinely cared for throughout pregnancy and birth 🤍

That’s exactly why doula support exists. Not to take over. Not to replace your medical team. But to walk alongside you with steady, compassionate support.

If you’re pregnant and wanting more reassurance, guidance or emotional support during your journey, my messages are always open.
