PlayBox Console Services

🎮 You can bring ONE game back and experience it for the first time again… what are you picking?

The late nights, the soundtrack, that one level you couldn’t beat… we’ve all got a game that takes us straight back. 👀

What’s yours—and what made it special?

Let’s see which games get the most love from the PlayBox crowd. A few of these might need dusting off for another go! 😂🎮

🔧🎮 A busy day on the benches at PlayBox!

Everyone getting GTA6 ready possibly🙏👌🏻😁

A little photo dump of today’s work, giving you a look inside the consoles and behind the scenes at the shop.

From stripped-down Xbox hardware and dried-out thermal paste to close-up HDMI inspections and a PS5 back displaying a picture—there’s plenty happening between drop-off and collection! 🔬

It’s the small details you don’t usually see that take up much of the work, so it’s always good to share a glimpse of what goes into looking after your consoles.

Thanks to everyone keeping this small local business busy. Your recommendations, shares and continued support mean a lot 🙌

🏖️ A Much-Needed Long Weekend!

I’m taking a well-earned break away with the Mrs, so while the shop will still be open for drop-offs and collections on Saturday and Monday, all console, controller and GHD repairs will be on hold until Tuesday.

Sorry for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding! 😊

🎮 Another Xbox Series X HDMI repair completed ✅

This one arrived with no display and, once stripped down, it was clear the HDMI port wasn’t the only problem. The damage had torn 2 pads and ripped the traces away from the motherboard.

The damaged traces was carefully exposed, rebuilt and secured before fitting a new HDMI port. The console was also absolutely packed with dust, so it received a much-needed internal clean while it was apart.

We do it this way so in the event of another hdmi port issue in the future, a new port can simply be placed back on these traces rather than rerun them again.

Reassembled, tested and displaying perfectly again ✅

HDMI damage doesn’t always mean the console is beyond repair—even when traces have been ripped from the board.
