What to Expect After Your Under Eye PMU Treatment
Under eye PMU is a gradual colour correction treatment designed to brighten the appearance of dark circles over a series of appointments.
Why isn’t all the darkness corrected in one session?
The first treatment is focused on softly reducing and neutralising the darker tones beneath the eyes. Because everyone’s skin heals differently, it’s important to see how your skin retains the pigment before adding more colour.
Working in stages allows us to tailor your treatment to your individual healing, ensuring the most balanced and long lasting result.
Your 6-week perfecting session
After approximately 6 weeks, once your skin has fully healed, you’ll return for your perfecting appointment.
At this visit we will
* Assess how your pigment has healed.
* Build on the first treatment where needed.
* Continue correcting any remaining darkness.
* Refine and perfect the overall result.
Most clients achieve their desired outcome over these two sessions.
Immediately after your treatment
Straight after your appointment, it’s completely normal to experience:
* Mild redness.
* Mild swelling.
* Slight tenderness.
These effects are temporary and usually settle within 24–48 hours, often much sooner.
As your skin heals
Over the following weeks:
* The pigment will soften and settle.
* Your skin will return to its normal texture.
* The treated area will look smoother.
* The colour will gradually develop into its healed result.
The healed result is always softer than it appears immediately after treatment, which is why we wait until your skin has fully recovered before carrying out your perfecting session.
