Today marks 7 years since I made the leap into self employment in my wee corner of Vollood ❤️

7 years stood behind this chair! cutting shapes, painting pretty colours, putting the world to rights and talking utter nonsense all day every day with so many wonderful people!

Thank you to all of my clients, from those of you who pop in from time to time, to the OG's who've been with me from the very start and become like family. Been at this many many years before Vollood, and as long as you guys keep me going I'll hopefully have many many more years to keep doing what we do ✂️

And thank you to Craig and the Vollood team who make the working day easy and such a laugh! ❤️

22 years in the industry and yesterday I did my first EVER bridal hair ❤️

Having always been more of a barber at heart I've never ventured into this side of hairdressing, but I'm so pleased I was asked and managed to not mess it up for the big day 😅

Was also micd up and filmed for a BBC documentary airing this July! Which needless to say isn't ideal when you've never done a hair-up in your life 😂 but the wedding morning was so relaxed, it was a breeze!

The documentary is about the bride and groom's involvement in the historical Stonelifting community. Gail and Jamie run the McGregor Stonelifting Games and have everything from stone tours across Iceland to the McGregor Stonelifting Games each year with categories for beginners up to Opens and everything in between. They'll also be bringing Stonelifting to the Bruce Festival next weekend in the Glen with demonstrations and crowd participation challenges! A fantastic sport steeped in history and a great community of people!

The documentary will include parts of their wedding day at the Barevan Lifting Stone site which was an absolutely beautiful setting for their special day!

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs McGregor ❤️ and thank you for being the most chilled bride!

Now, who else wants a hair up?! 😂

This appointment can be for a long or short haircut, a hair & beard combo, or I dunno, just pop in and tell me your gossip and I'll put the kettle on ☕❤️

I'm sure I've mentioned to most of my clients by now, but in case I've missed anyone, please note that some services will have a price increase which will be in place from tomorrow.

For most services it's a £3 difference, though some colour services are between £5 and £15.

As mentioned back in September, this is to keep up with rising costs behind the scenes, and to keep my services compatible within the industry.
